so who is feeling the cold?

It is getting downright nippy here in TX.
Glad I am not in MN right now tho.
We have a 100 yo + farmhouse and in these parts, they were used to hot, not cold. So the place is designed to move air and has no insulation to speak of.
Not so bad if it is just cold, but cold and windy are really tough.
My thermostat is reading 30 outside and 37 in the kitchen right now. Kitchen is closed off from the central part of the house which is heated with a wood stove.
Looks like everybody is in one bed tonight. I suspect we will be in the teens.

    stay warm folks

Forecast here through Monday is 70-73 degrees and sunny.
Was abnormally cold a couple weeks back. Overcast and barely in the 60's.

It is downright frigid in Southern, Wisconsin (when it isn't snowing like mad).

Every morning I take my girlfriend to her job and I take a six mile road all the way to drop her off at the school where she teaches

I have a 4-wheel drive and the roads were pretty thick when I got out there. I must have counted about 10 people (various ages) driving on the right the right side of the road going 5 mph. I have to usually kick on my high speed (along with my 4 wheel drive) to get around them.

You know the types, the ones that are usually trailing about 20 cars behind them. The roads are so bad that the idiot behind "the leader" is too much of a ***** to pass. Then after about 4 or 5 miles you have about six more cars that join the "idiot train". That's what I call it.

Yes, I have Road Rage. (so bad I even wrote a song about it. LOL)

Luckily that road is a two lane and I can get around but for some reason if you are out there before 9am, they have only plowed the right lane. The only people that can pass these 5mph road hogs are people with 4wheel drive. The rest are just following the long line, scared to do anything that might cause them to slide. LOL

There are just some "bad drivers" out there (men and women). People that should stay off the road. Some are younger kids or adults driving Ford Fiesta type sized cars and whizzing past me (who has a four wheel drive). All it takes is for one of those idiots to hit an ice patch and they are risking my life.

I understand you need to get to work but if you're making minimum wage is it worth your life (men or women)?

Our city plows don't seem to "kick in" until about 9am. Anything before that is just a few scraps on the highway with a plow and some salt sprinkles.

I didn't mean to change your post subject. It just sparked something when you mentioned the cold. I hate cold!!!

I've lost all feeling, due to the cold.

Baton Rouge LA, low of 22! WTH is that all about? Louisiana seems to get the worst that mother nature can offer.

It is cold here is Houston and getting colder. I guess global warming is really affecting us. I love how everyone freaks out down here when it starts getting cold. We went over emergency procedures and got a phone tree just in case school is canceled tomorrow because of the COLD. Can you believe that.

Yeah, it's cold here as well. Not quite 40 below, but it feels like it. My space heater at work is cranking every minute I am here and I could probably buy a dozen boxed Megos every month with what I am paying for heating costs.

Winnipeg wins, I'd take Timmins over Portage and Main.

We are out today (and presumably, tomorrow, as tomorrow will be colder than today) because the wind chills are below zero and most of the kids in the several school districts we serve are bussed. Can't have them out in this stuff. This type of cold is very rare for us and most folks are not prepared to handle it.
