I am so going to see this.

1) The trailer looks good...funny dialogue with good actors delivering it.

2) I too also question the mix of "young kid" and "over the top" violence and profanity.

There can be a debate here on the boards or anywhere else for eternity,
but that still wouldn't keep my conscience from twitching.

I will, however, be interested to see how this all plays out
how the box office is, the critics reaction, and my own reaction if
and when I see it.

Seems like a landmark movie release any way it bounces though.

My father in law still insists the Simpsons should be banned because it's an adult themed cartoon.

I'm a father of two and I'll be the first in line to see this but I'll be leaving the kids at home.

I notice the incestous undertones in the second trailer, not overtly over the top, but it's there none the less. I generally have a low brow sense of humour so things like this don't really "offend me", but I could see how others would find it distasteful.

The movie is going to be Rated R and Hit Girl and Big Daddy are kind of a parody of Frank Miller's Darknight Batman and Girl Robin........Kids shooting Guns and being fouled mouth? Any one ever see what happens in the Middle East or even here in East LA......It's not being marketed to little kids. I don't see a Hit Girl Skipper doll..........yet

No one in this thread doubts that that stuff exists. We could fill a billion
pages with stuff that exists...that doesn't automatically mean that if it's
put into a movie that it is a good decision.

It's too broad of paintstroke, so it's a case by case basis.

We have already answered the question of why subject a real flesh and blood kid to what was originally text and imagery. Because it will sell.

It is quite probable that Chloe Moretz never saw any post production shots or scenes with the ultraviolent effects. She probably had a blast running around acting like a hot shot in a funny costume and getting to use foul language.
