Yeah, he might be the best ever. (and I remember when his Dad played!!)

He's just hasn't been as exciting as some of the old school guys like Montana and Elway or as colorful as some or as sentimental as say, Favre...but there is no denying the talent.

              I've come full-circle on Farve.

I always thought he was a cry baby when Elway and Montana played.

Of course, I thought they were cry babies when Fouts and Bradshaw played....

and they were babies when I watched Tarkington and Stabler play.

I don't remember Johnny Unitas in his heyday and I don't remember Bart Starr...but I bet they were pussies compared to Otto Graham and Sammy Baugh.

Man, everyone forgets about Roger Staubach. I remember him taking shots to the head. In fact, that was one of the things that finally put an end to his career. People forget that he only played 10 years for the Cowboys. Probably the toughest SOB back in the 70's, QB wise, was Terry Bradshaw. I mean I HATED!!! the Steelers...but the man deserves his props.

Well there's two ways to look at the Indy/Jets game - It will either be a game the Jets come in to prove they could beat the Colts WITHOUT pulling Manning, OR the Colts will be able to exorcise their regular season demons and crush the Jets once and for all (as a revenge for not getting the "perfect season"). It will be interesting to see which team shows up. Hey anything is possible after today's games. CRAZY!

I'm sorry to have left Staubach as an oversite in the comparisons. Let me explain why I didn't include him in my short list: He simply didn't play as long as the others and the comparison is to Favre. Yes, Staubach was an old Dude at the end, but his career was much shorter.

I grew up a Cowboys fan. That was my team. I absolutely love Roger Staubach.

Perhaps it is my recollection and adoration of the guy, but I never saw him as an underdog or lacking any tools. It's not that I don't appreciate what he did...it just that he was Superman to me. I always expected him to do what he did. He was a Heisman Trophy winner, a physical specimen as QB at the time, but I never had to think of him as tough or gritty.

I am also fully aware that it wasn't injuries that cut his career short. It was age....and the fact that he missed Five Years of playing time because he honored his commitment to serve as an Officer in the US Navy. Craig Morton started ahead of him for the first few years, so all of Roger's stats, which are Hall of Fame good enough, remarkably came in only 9 years as a starter.

That is remarkable, something I was completely aware of, so please forgive my non-inclusion of Roger.

Geez. Who would have thunk it with the Jets. Weren't suppose to get by the Bengals, they did, Weren't suppose to get by the Chargers, they did. And I'm sure they aren't suppose to get by the Colts. I'm guessing they will.

No way am I betting on the Jets to get by Indy.

Of course I didn't expect them to get to this point, so what do I know. Figured Cinncy would get them last week, figured the Bolts would win this one, had I been around....I guess I would have figured Shula to outcoach Ewbank.

                              Oh, my....

Dallas' Keith Brooking gave a post-game statement about the Vikings running up the score.

I could have written off the on field stuff as emotion, but to not compose yourself afterward....

"I don’t really want to get into that," Brooking said at first. "I mean, I will say it was classless. It was disrespectful to do that."
Yes, it was disrespectful to do what you did, Brooking....and classless, too. Oh, but he wasn't talking about his own actions.

I'm sorry, but I am looking at a freeze frame of the play, now. Dallas had two Defenders who were coming at Favre with one beat lineman in the backfield. Dallas had a Defensive Back on the receiver who caught the ball. All of the receivers were covered and the rush was on.

Didn't Dallas run up the score the Last 2 weeks against the Eagles ?

.. In the regular Season ..., if your going into the 4th Quater,.. and your up by 40 Points..., I could see resting your Starters.... That Saint Team Scored 45 Points yesterday..., and Damn Near Averaged that for over Half their Games..., I say the Vikings needed some extra Practice.
