Oh, but they are Dallas.
Six sacks, three fumbles, and an interception.....all before that last Touchdown.
The final score was irrelevant, but the fact that Minnesota got it with Dallas trying to defend it...well, just play better Dallas. Can't fault Minnesota for taking the game as a tune-up for next week.
New Orleans will come to play, so the Vikings needed all the real play they could get. They were playing for the whole 60 minutes, even if Dallas wants to act like they weren't. Just because Minnesota didn't take a knee, doesn't mean Dallas wasn't playing. It's not like the Vikings faked a knee and went for the TD. Dallas knew the Vikings were still playing and they should have risen to the challenge. They could have easily got a sack, or forced a fumble, or got an interception. It was a live play and had Dallas risen to the occasion, they were entitled to the same points Minnesota recorded...had they recovered a fumble or intercepted a pass and run it back. Minnesota's gamble meant the points were on the board for anyone to grab and record.
Look at it this way: Had Favre been hit and fumbled or thrown an interception, Dallas would have gladly taken the points....but it would have made no difference in who won or lost.
I think Dallas' real frustration comes from the fact that they believed their own press, underestimated Minnesota, and let their own disillusion with reality become a sense of injustice.
