Hey George, you don't like elves, much do ya?
That gold one to the right is made just like my Christmas toy soldiers my mom got from FTD when I was 7. The fringes fell off within the first 5 years. I still have them. The bases fell off and the wires are exposed on the bottom. The green one's hat has lost its brim, but I still love them and still hang them.
The gold pixie you mentioned is a tree topper. The tinsel has seen better days, so I decided to just stand it beside the tree instead. If you look carefully at the tree, you can spot a couple of 60's toys near the top.

Wow! I had totally forgotten about those stuffed Santa's with the pull cord. I had one of those in the late 60's, early 70's. Hey George do you know the name of the manufacturer that made that? I would love to find one on Ebay! That sure brings back some memories when I was a little kid.
He still kinda/sorta works, but I'll probably send him off eventually to get him working fulltime again. I think I paid around $45.00 for mine, so you should be able to get one fairly easily.

Yep, he's a Mattel Patter Pillow from 1968. Here's a pic from the eBay auction I got him from:

a few years ago i inherited the family tree... its 7.5 ft, 25-30 years old, mum cant remember exactly when she got itbut she says i was about 5 or 6 and im 36 now
im sorry i dont have a grand house like many of youbut its home well for now until the repo man comes knocking
heres baby magans view, she helped me with the baubles on the bottom
then i went all artistic on you and got a little carried away, not had batteries in the camera for a while
well i tried lol
here we have some vintage bits, my wifes grampy gave her this many years ago, its round 40 years old or so
we got snow globe cushions... i know your jealous
my misses hates the bells hanging by the fireplace but i insist on them going up, there tacky and thats what i like
my plush santa is around 12 years old now and looks like it just got bought its still awsome looking im sure you agree
this is a special one for me, when my bro was in hospital with a broken neck paralised from the chest down i got him this snowman, all singing all dancing with frank sinatra voice, my bro had use of his one arm to a fashion and he used to bash it to set it off, boy oh boy that was 1 hard xmas, he passed on feb 26 8 years ago but his frosty takes pride of place on the cabinet every year.
best of all i turn over and home alone is on, result
merry xmas ya filthy animal

Wow what a fun thread. I feel like I'm visiting each other's houses. If I can find a really cheap tree that's taller than me after Christmas is over, I may splurge. It's just that the husband is not really big into decorations. I decorate for the kids...otherwise we probably wouldn't have a tree up. It wasn't until Dylan was about 5 that we started decorating for Christmas....so that's about 5 years with no Christmas decorations! Besides, Apemania just gave me an idea of churning ornaments like Santas and angels into apes...and I will need more space to hang up all of my Christmas apes. Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.
Samples of my work are found here: Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness
To do list:
1:6 boots for Mathilda, 1:1 Romulan Commander outfit, Ursus helmet; Cornelius appliance
1:9 scale ape's new suit for Cornelius;Comment

I haven't gotten mine yet. We always go on the weekend closes to my birthday (Dec. 12th) and cut a real cedar tree. It's been a family tradition for years. Me, my son, my dad, my brother-in-law and my nephew go out and get one for each of our houses.
No offense to anyone here, but I always joke that I will never have an artificial tree. My wife needles me about it every year just to get me riled up, and I tell her if she gets a fake tree, just go ahead and ram it through my heart, because I'd rather be dead.
I'll post pics after we decorate this weekend!
