Poland felt the way the Cezks did 1938, if she knew she was going to back up by her allies , she would given the Germany army bloody nose.
cezk tanks and equipment was far superior .Comment

As far as the Soviets being allies, the point was moot as soon as they started keeping territories that was not there own.
Territorial gain was never an issue with the allies -- not counting the US keeping a few Pacific islands for their trouble
It would have been quite easy to bankrupt the Soviet army right then and there by fighting them back to their own territory... They were on borrowed time as it was ... It was the USA's non aggression (at the time) that allowed them to build themselves up over the years.Comment

Yes, it's very racist ... but most of the world was heavily racist back then.
No way would the A-bomb have ever been used on GermanyComment

Not disagreeing with you but history was not on the side of armies invading Russia. Napoleon was pretty confident when he marched on Russia but look what happened to him and he had the best army in the world at the time. Not to mention Hitler had just done the same thing.

I'm talking about pushing them back behind the Poland, Czech, Hungry, Bulgarian and Romanian lines.Last edited by Mikey; Dec 7, '09, 3:58 PM.Comment

Like I said, I don't disagree with you. It's like the Saddam situation in the first Gulf war. We should've went all the way to Baghdad the first time. We should've just pulled all available troops and all the Allies together and took care of the USSR right then and there but we didn't and a lot of people paid the price for that. Thank goodness Reagan came along when he did and finally stood up to them and orchestrated the Soviet collapse.

when the attack happened, my Father wanted to enlist immediately!! But he was 17, and my Grandfather refused to sign the release form. So the Papers sat on top of the Fridge for a year, until my Father turned 18...and he joined the Navy!
He was a Gun Captain(Gunners Mate 2nd class)on the U.S.S.Abbot(Fletcher Class Destroyer)...in the South Pacific fighting the Japanese. He was with MacArthur when we recaptured the Philippines.sigpicComment
