There a website that converts vintage TVs into working models! The ones I liked got sold, but they're stock is changing all the time. If you miss your family's old boxy TV, you may find what you're looking for here:

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Watching football right now on my 60 inch Pioneer Plasma. It's the only way to watch a Fball game!

I say mid 90's is when they stopped wooden tube TV's.My mom still has a RCA that we bought from Montgomery Wards back in 1990 and still works.Tube Tv's Tubes are modern flat screen are DVD/VHS and are getting phased out little by little.I thought I was Bad Arse in 2003 when I bought my first Big Screen 65" HD from Sony for $3475.00 .It has to be the last year because after that the next year was nothing but flat screens.I should have waited.

My only "up to date" stuff is my computer (purchased new two years ago), Moniter (upgraded to flat screen monitor earlier this year) and a combo printer/scanner/copier I just bought. I'd love to upgrade my TV but cost and lack of space is big issue. My TV is a 29 inch (I think) that I've had since 2001 since when my best freind & I shared an apartment. Still have a couple of working VCRs that get semi-regular use. I also have 13 inch tube TV that I've had for a good 25 years which is currently being used to play games in the break room at my job. Actually I had two and one JUST died this year.
Plus, up until a few months ago I wa maintaining my own website. So keeping my computer up to date always took priority over my TV set up.
