Not a big deal, Hector. Me and my buddies have made parties out of cosmoline removal from different rifles and pistols. (Usually only see historic pieces or old Soviet Bloc surplus packed in it, though. However, I can see it being used as a cost-cutting tactic). Just takes a little work to remove, but the greasy stuff keeps a weapon from rusting away in a warehouse and for the price of that pistola, it's worth removing the stuff. It'll be cherry once you properly remove the gunk.

Try Glock 26- 9mm. That works for me. Ruger 380 is pretty good too.

Ya..I don't have much to add to what he said about the grease. I don't remember mine coming overly greased up but typically you should clean new firearms anyway as they are test fired at the factory and not cleaned...so they typically have residue in the bore.

Some guys I know field strip any new weapons they buy immediately and soak them in CLP overnight to allow it to soak into the metal then wipe it all down and then hit it with Rem oil in the parts that rub together. Never lubricate the magazine as that attracts dirt and can cause it to jam.

The Bersa is very similar to a Walther PPK like James Bond carries. I've had people who own both tell me that the Bersa is a much better more reliable firearm for $300 less. I have the nickel with the 9 round magazine and absolutely love it.

I use Prvi Partizan ammo for target practice and even sometimes for concealed carry. Its inexpensive but a really quality round. They seal the primer on them so no moisture can get in and spoil the round. Probably overkill but hey...every little bit helps, right?

Check this out...a comparison between 4 .380's. Bersa comes in a CLOSE second in accuracy for hundreds of dollars less than the sig sauer. I love Sig Sauer but nothing beats my Bersa in the .380 caliber for the price.

I thought of something this morning. We have had the same or less restrictive gun laws in the past here in America during the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, etc. How come there wasn't as much gun crime back then? Maybe its more due to the cultural decay than the laws themselves.

Also, anyone who is legal to own a firearm in the US can own a FULLY AUTOMATIC machine gun. Did you know that? You just have to fill out some forms and pay the tax stamp of a few hundred bucks. Lots of collectors have machine guns. How come we don't here about tons of machine gun violence in the US?

I used to have a semi automatic 22 rifle years ago.

It was neat but kept jamming up (you'd load the bullets through the stock)

One time it jammed up once too often and I spazzed and smashed it on a rock

Sold it to a guy for parts for $5.00
