Blockbuster is the entity owned by that evil man, Montague` Burns,...er I mean, Sumner Redstone, a man who has taken up space better served by nicer people on this Earth for too long! Bockbuster is always understaffed by the underpaid and downtrodden employees. There's always a line and never enough people to ask questions of or organize the shelves. A truly sad place to visit...which reminds me I have to return 2 discs tonight.

I've always felt BB's first priority was making money. The movies were just how they happened to do it. I know for a fact that Netflix was started by guys who not only love movies but hate BB's late fees.

      THANKS!

        I called them again ...

They refuse to refund my money ... So probably tomorrow i'm going to try going the Paypal route.

This really couldn't come at a worse time

It's like getting robbed of your last $20.00 by a millionaire.

Needless to say, i'm really upset.

I remember when you could rent a video for a buck. I could walk up to the store to rent the movie and when I was done with it, walk back and give the movie back (that was after our family sold out and got a VHS - when we had BETA, there was only one store in town that rented those and it was quite a drive so mom rarely took me up there !) These days I don't have PayPal, don't rent movies by mail (and I can't think of the last time I rented a movie in the store), and at $5 a rental, I've found it's usually better just to buy the darn movie and take it to a used DVD store when I'm done...or keep it and lend it to a friend. I think most of the movies I watch are borrowed from friends...they have much more reasonable late fees

I'm sorry to hear that you got shafted by the man at Thanksgiving. That really does suck.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Sorry to hear that Mike. At the very least they should've warned you as soon as the disc was overdue. I'm a Netlfix animal. I think I reported a disc lost a couple times (to get the next one sent) and it eventually turned up at Netflix (the mail was just late) so they actually never lost a disc from me.

One time I lost Earthquake! on my own, not in the mail. I considered just declaring it lost in the mail but the angel on my shoulder spoke louder then the devil on my other shoulder that day.

So, I checked that they charge something like $14.00 if you declare that you lost the disc and accept the responsibility. So, what I did instead was order a used copy of Earthquake! from an Amazon secondary seller for about $6 or 7 dollars shipped.

When it came, I slipped the disc in the an envelope with another title and they accepted it as a return.

Later on, Netlfix's Earthquake! did turn up.

I hope you can get your money back Mike. Read the fine print about what happens when something is lost in the mail and see if it can be used to help.

Also, if this was in a Blockbuster made return envelope, maybe talking to the post office to see if it can be traced might be a good idea.
