    Blockbuster Sucks

    About 3 months ago I got a one month free membership.
    I returned all the movies.

    Just this morning I see $21.00 taken out of my account.

    They said I never returned a movie and they're charging $21.00 to replace it.

    I called them and they said they going to "investigate" and turn it over to another department... It will take a while.

    In other words they shrugged me off.

    Why would I keep WKRP in Cincinnati disc-1 ... and they charged $21.00 ?
    *** ???

    BTW, I always returned all the movies ...
    Even if this disc really did get lost in the mail, don't they have at least once grace period loss ?

    All this did was ruin my Thanksgiving because I was counting on that money. Little that it is, to me it's a lot and I had it spent already ... on groceries.

    This really ****es me off to no end.

    NEVER, I mean NEVER deal with this rip-off company.

    Man, i'm sooooo pizzed, i'm beside myself.

    Thanks for reading AND BEWARE if you deal with Blockbuster

      I stopped renting movies years ago, because of the late/missing/damaged movie fees. Now we have cable TV/VOD/DVD/DVR and all are PDQ. The best part is they never have any fees after I watch the movie.

      I know this may not mean much but if your family needs the money for Thanksgiving I could paypal it to you. We don't have much, but God has been good to us and we have enough.

        Did they take it out of your checking acct? If they did call your bank and complain. Also see if they can put a block on them from accessing your account again

            They just took it out of my Paypal this morning.
            Didn't even give me a warning or nothing.
            Just bang, the money is gone ....

            Then a few minutes later I get an email from them explaining why.

            Because they took it out of Paypal, is there a way I could fight this ?

            It says on their site that they will not charge you for Discs that are occasionally lost in the mail.

            Can I complain to Paypal ?

              I had the same thing happen to me. If your account would have been active, they would not have charged you. Although, if you claim too many lost DVD's they jack up your monthly charge a little and send the DVD's with insurance and tracking. You can probably dispute it with paypal, especially if you paid via a CC thru paypal.

              For everyone else, here's a tip. If you are planning on closing a Netflix or Blockbuster account, here's what to do. Give your self a week or two before the next date they charge your account. Take all movies out of your queue and send the movies you have back. Make sure they get them before you close the account. That way if one gets lost you can report as a problem to them and they will not charge you. Make sure all movies are out of your queue or they will send another.

                  On top of everything else ... WKRP season-1 costs $27.99 for the entire season.

                  They're charging me $21.00 for just 1 missing used disc.

                  That is such a blatent ripoff ... it should be illegal

                      May Blockbuster go down the crapper for being mean to you.Blockbuster was good on the begining but they lost me as a customer long time ago.

                        Yeah Netflix is great, they allow for lost discs. Until it becomes "excessive" they don't charge you. I lost one once and they didn't care at all. Its just good business.

                          A few years ago I did Netflix for an entire year and not one disc ever got lost.

                          This makes me think Blockbuster is lying just to try and squeeze money out of people.
