    Gene Hackman RIP

Lex Luthor has died. To say that Gene Hackman was a legend in Hollywood would be an understatement. What, if anything, did he not accomplish? His body of work was a who-is-who of Hollywood. From "Superman" to "The Firm" -- and everything in between, this man was just a phenomenal actor. Of course, he was a two-time Academy Award winner for "The French Connection" and "Unforgiven." However, he will always be known as the quintessential Lex Luthor in the movies. His chemistry with the late Christopher Reeve was just magical. Such a great talent. Both he and his wife were found dead at their Santa Fe New Mexico home. Gene was 95.

I was gobsmacked by this. Speculation is that it was carbon monoxide, since the police don't believe there was any foul play, and his wife and their dog were all found dead. Just a sad end to a guy who gave us so much entertainment., and had peacefully retied from the industry. As much as I loved him as Lex, I was even more impressed with some of his other work, particularly Unforgiven, a personal favorite film of mine. RIP.

Shocking sad and scary news. Too be determined though on what happened. RIP!
Obviously a great body of work. I always liked “The Conversation” and then later “Enemy of the State.”

One of those actors who elevated EVERYTHING they were a part of. So many iconic roles. My personal favorite was his turn as Norman Dale, the disgraced former college basketball coach given a second chance at a small Indiana high school in “Hoosiers”.
          RIP.

Here is the weird part. They have/had THREE dogs and. Only ONE was dead in a closet. Still getting (reliable)??? News pouring in, so not sure what is happening.

Very sad. I hope it wasn't suicide.

RIP Mr. Hackman and Mrs. Hackman.

Im hoping the deaths being 'suspicious' is just part of police procedure when the cause of death isn't apparent. But looks like there were reports already that there was no gas leak detected so i dont know what to think.

Of all the rolls he played, to me Gene will always be the reverend in the Poseidon Adventure.

One of the first movies I ever seen in the theatre

                      RIP

French Connection and His Popeye Doyle character was terrific, the best intense chase scene in the history of Hollywood.

Very sad news and also very suspicious at the same time.

I just hope we find out what really happened, Hackman was a great actor.

Surpassed, imo, by To Live and Die in LA's car chase, (also Friedkin).

I enjoyed many, many, good Gene Hackman movies. His voice stood out to me for a long time, wonderful actor.

I love Uncommon Valor and others.

Many of his lesser known movies are highly entertaining as well, some meaningful.

I like that he appeared in Young Frankenstein and Loose Cannons has been super funny since I first watched it on videocassette.

Lost count on how many times that I watched Crimson Tide.

                            So many rich moments.

Much charisma and a great way about him.

                            His characters became real people.

Thankful for all that he gave.

                            {mystified about what was reported. I think Randy Quaid and others feel there is more to everything.}

It kind of makes sense even the dog. Very sad.

RIP Mr & Mrs. Hackman and dog.
