That ain't terrorism. That was a guy too scared to face combat duty and hid behind religion.

Coward, nothing more. Shameful person who was too scared to do his duty, too weak to kill himself on his own.

while I would love to see that happen, I know it would'nt be right. Not because of him. Just because that's what makes us different from the bad guys around the world

The mainstream media is too weak and afraid to tell you its Terrorism! It is though. He has been found to be connected to terrorists. He Put terror in America- Thats a terrorist no matter what CNN or Fox says!

Personally I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in The Telegraph.

Yes the UCMJ does include the death penalty but it hasn't been used is decades. Also from his prespective death is a martyr death caused by his enemy in the cause is a way to eternal bliss. No life in prison (peferably in a small cell) where his only outlet is chained to break up rocks (i can say definitively in the 90's the army still used chain gangs to break up boulders into gravel at Ft leavenwoth I hope they still do) or scub latrines by hand is a harsher punishment.

And shooting up a military base when you're a member of said military sure counts as treason in my book. Treason, the one crime the federal government can punish with death.
Actaully treason is a very different crime. that entails a transfer of government information to a foreign agent. I know UCMJ allows death penalty for desertion in the face of the enemy but I am not a JAG and have been out long enough I no longer have a copy of the UCMJ to read over. I don't know every instance it does allow for death penalty but it is very uncommon. An intreresting argument might be to say he went on the shooting spree to avoid combat and apply the death penalty that way but I don't think it would work

The SRC process is what I just got done with doing here at Fort Lewis (flying overseas in a few weeks..). It's a pretty busy process, lots of long lines of soldiers, getting all their medical/finance/legal records checked.

Hate to say, but unfortunately as we've seen, he picked a pretty vulnerable spot to go nuts.

My sympathies to the families left behind.

Who knew that a terrorist organization was so picky about its agents? I guess it's a Hirer's Market everywhere these days.

That had to be one painful rejection letter to receive in the mail...
