Oh, man! I was just talking about him yesterday with a co-worker. We were looking up old tv shows from the 70's and he saw Soupy Sales show listed and commented on that.

I was a tad too young to see the show, but I had some hand-me-down books and a record. RIP

In the late 70's-early 80's he had a late night show on TBS with his puppet friends. I used to watch him every night, and even sent in for an autographed picture, which sadly disappeared long ago. From what I've read online, he was in poor health the last few years, which is a sad end for such a funny guy. The one good thing about his passing is that Heaven just became that much cooler. RIP Soupy.

The hoopla about Soupy is he's basically a children's performer that also appealed to adults ... Not much different then when college kids used to love Tellie Tubbies and gained a cult adult following.

                          Soupy was basically everyone's uncle.
