Put it in a vice and shoot at it using a 12 gauge shotgun from about 6 feet away.

Make sure you wear safety glasses and ear protection.

That MIGHT damage the card though

I feel the same. I don't believe in grading new cards, but the old ones 60's and older (or rookies in 70's etc), I would leave in the case. What is the grade? If it is a 7 or better, do not touch it, if under 7, take it or leave it.

It's a 1966 Mickey Mantle graded by psa and it's a 7 which i think is an EX/NM not sure but i got a sweet deal on the card the asking price was $55 and a ungraded card in like con goes for a lot more so i got my cousin to buy it and mail it to me, The card shop that sold it is closing up hence the good price

I agree. I wouldn't take the chance of accidentally ruining it. Great score

You got a great deal. What company graded it? That would be a big factor on if I took it out. PSA or BGS are really the best and most well respected grading companys. If the card was graded by them I'd keep it slabed.

I hate to say it (because I truly dispise grading) but I agree with everyone else. Keep it slabbed, JOHN

PSA is about the only grading I would leave alone, and keep in the graded slab. they tell you how they grade what they grade and list details out to the public ... unlike AFA

I'd keep the card sealed.... a PSA 7 for a mid 60's card is pretty darn good.

I have my Don Mattingly RC PSA 8 and no way will I take that thing out, and he's no where as rare as your '66 Mantle PSA 7

Surpisingly it's not very hard, Just need a pair of pliers and crack the top and pull apart took about a min and no damage to the card, I just had to free the card i just can't stand graded stuff

I am known as The Ungrader.
I hate what it stands for. Encasing something cool in carbonite, to raise the value.
                              Sorry, guys.
If it's your kind of thing, that's fine, but it's like putting a beautiful woman in a locked closet, where you can only see her through a window. I want to put my hands on that woman, caress her curves, smell her perfume, ravage...ahum, sorry, got carried away.

I once had a friend (sounds like a real sob story right), who had some figures encased to such a degree, that he could hardly make them out anymore. They were in sealed bags, and then sealed in a acrylic case!

I have the perfect way to crack your case: make love to a beautiful woman and put the case under the matress. Combine business and pleasure. Just tell her you want to "unslab your card"....
                              .

                              .
