If i brought the card to resell that i would have left it slabed, But i plan on keeping the card as i dought i'll be able to afford a nicer one the only flaw to the card is it's cut a little off center at the top -
I unslabed the Mantle card and i don't fold it and shove it in my back pocket so it's still safe, I put it in my Yankess team binder in a nine pocket page made by ultra pro along with the rest of my Yankee cards from 57-09 yes it's a huge binder a 5 inch D ring
The grader slab just bugged me so i set him free and placed him with his team mates from 66Leave a comment:

That is ridiculous. Same goes for comics really, how the hell are you supposed to read them once they're graded?I can understand the need to protect something older and fragile, like a vintage card, that's quite OK. Or a figure that has really fragile clothing and accessories.
What I just cannot "get" is getting an item graded that's a year old, and then asking $$$$$$$ for it.
I've seen simple $5 SW figures get graded and magically get a $250 value....

I personally hate grading. But even tho I'm no baseball expert, I do know Micky Mantle was huge back then (and still now I guess), so I'd leave that one aloneLeave a comment:

I am known as The Ungrader.
I hate what it stands for. Encasing something cool in carbonite, to raise the value.
Sorry, guys.
If it's your kind of thing, that's fine, but it's like putting a beautiful woman in a locked closet, where you can only see her through a window. I want to put my hands on that woman, caress her curves, smell her perfume, ravage...ahum, sorry, got carried away.
I once had a friend (sounds like a real sob story right), who had some figures encased to such a degree, that he could hardly make them out anymore. They were in sealed bags, and then sealed in a acrylic case!
I have the perfect way to crack your case: make love to a beautiful woman and put the case under the matress. Combine business and pleasure. Just tell her you want to "unslab your card"....Leave a comment:

Surpisingly it's not very hard, Just need a pair of pliers and crack the top and pull apart took about a min and no damage to the card, I just had to free the card i just can't stand graded stuff

Which one do you have? I come across the Topps all the time both graded and ungraded and once in awhile i see a FLEER but i haven't come across a Donruss in a long time, FYI Don Mattingly is one of my fav all time playersLeave a comment:

PSA is about the only grading I would leave alone, and keep in the graded slab. they tell you how they grade what they grade and list details out to the public ... unlike AFA
I'd keep the card sealed.... a PSA 7 for a mid 60's card is pretty darn good.
I have my Don Mattingly RC PSA 8 and no way will I take that thing out, and he's no where as rare as your '66 Mantle PSA 7Leave a comment:

I hate to say it (because I truly dispise grading) but I agree with everyone else. Keep it slabbed, JOHNLeave a comment:

You got a great deal. What company graded it? That would be a big factor on if I took it out. PSA or BGS are really the best and most well respected grading companys. If the card was graded by them I'd keep it slabed.Leave a comment:
