Kick ball who played as a kid

Not to derail this thread, but did anyone here ever play the Dodgeball variation called Battle Ball? I recall it being more gruesome and violent. You began by having both teams lined up agains the gym walls, and the first thrower got to peg who they wanted to start the usual Dodgeball mele.

I usually stunk at most sports, but I was pretty good at both Dodgeball and kickball.

Yes, kick ball was my game. Since I always played soccer from the time I was in Kindergarten I could kick the ball really far no matter how much spin, slow, fast, bounce anyone wanted to put on it.

And it is still played today. My kids will go outside every so often and play a pick up game with the other kids in the cul-de-sac.

I'm not sure dodgeball is allowed anymore. I don't remember my kids ever saying they played in gym but kickball is still allowed around here at least.

Loved kickball, too, though I preferred dodgeball. And yes, we played Battle Ball in high school. It was vicious.

We played kickball at the Lutheran school that our church ran. My brother in the 8th grade put a ball St. Pauls head in the huge stained glass window in a fluke game where they got moved down from the normal field. 4 years later I am in 8th grade on the same field -- I take out St. Peter's feet. I actually made a Lutheran pastor swear. We played dodge ball (Murder Ball) the rest of the year.

Use to love playing kickball. Too bad it wasn't an "organized sport" like Little
League Baseball.

We used to play it during recess. Kick Ball was played during the good weather and dodgeball inside the gym during the crummy weather.

The worst would be when that ball would just bounce of your body and your friends would look at you like ...catch the ball loser
