I was just talking to a freind and I remeber playing kick ball alot as a kid,that had to be the best game ever. Wonder why kids dont play it anymore. Remeber the sound of a good kick ,,that poing sound it would make. What a good game..totaly free an hours of fun.

It's still played. My son plays it at his babysitters sometimes.
We played it a lot in P.E. class at school. There was one kid who could really kick the fire out of that thing. He'd always kick it over into the next field, and one of us kids would have to climb the fence and go get it.

I loved playing kickball. I was one of those kids who managed to kick the poop out of the ball. I was always a skinny kid, but for some reason I did well at kickball.
Besides, it was better than getting hit upside the head by one of those 4-square balls!
BTW< kickball is not only still played by kids, but adult leagues have sprung up all over the country. The adults leagues play with a bigger ball, but its mostly fun and giggles. They used to play on the National Mall by the Washington Monument when I lived in DC.

My kids still play kickball at their grade school during lunch and P.E. I hate the game myself. I guess I got sour on it in 4th grade when our class used to have to share the gym w/ Mrs. Walden's class. This woman was a little over 6 feet tall, and looked like a transvestite. Her class always wanted to play kickball, so we had to also. We told our teacher to talk to her, but I think she was a little afraid of Mrs. Walden, (and if you saw her, you'd know why!
) so nothing was done. I'm not a sports person period, and hated gym class anyway, but this made it worse. I started wearing street shoes on gym day.

We always seemed to have a debate in gym class whenever we were given a choice between kickball and dodgeball...I always went with the dodgeball group.
The mention of kickball always brings back the memory of one kid who would remove his high-top Converse and kick the ball in just his socks to supposedly be able to kick it further. Believe it or not he got a lot of homeruns that way...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Yeah, kickball was great. At recess or later in PE kickball was the best. Even when you were playing defense you still got to throw and hit someone with that rubber ball as hard as you could to get them out!Comment

I played Kickball loved it...but prefered Dodgeball nothing like throwong a ball real hard at someones you didn't like head!
