I remember when this used to come on TV when I was a kid! Good memories.

There's a very good version on "On Demand" now. I think it's called "Sleepy Hollow" or "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". But it is very much, like the way it was originally written. When I first located it, the detals said "actors not available:. I think from 1998 or so. My wife said, "we saw that!". She and I were both confusing it with the Tim Burton one. Which, I wanted to see a true Washington Irving version. And this was it. Very good version. Check it out on Comcast, On Demand.

Toward the end, my wife said, "I don't like that Ichabod, he's not a very nice person". And I said, "Exactly, the kind of guy who could lose his head and you wouldn't care much!"

Tim Burton should try to do a film like this. It might just work. Not that I didn't like his version, but I prefer originals. Again, not that his version isn't original. It is. but HE didn't write the story. He reworked it. Even the Disney toon is closer to original than the Burton rewrite.

Since I'm on the topic too. I have to get Nightmare before Christmas and The Corpse Bride out to watch with the family..Truly original Burton classics!

I saw that version last year and thought it was excellent...it's the one with Washington Irving in the tavern collecting stories, right? I should see if it's on a DVd, the Hallmark Channel likes to insert commercials every 3 minutes whether there's a natural break or not, mostly ads for more HC movies (which I just don't get...if you were actually selling products to generate revenue I could see, but ads just to promote the next movie? Weird and more than a bit egotistical).

I had no idea this existed. The only other recent production I know of was I think called "The Hollow" and was a modern updating aired on Sci-Fi. So I know it's a dud.

I may have to snap this up soon before Halloween hits!

I don't suppose the old Jeff Goldblum/Dick Butkiss version is out on DVD.

I remember watching this in elementary on 8mm film.I was pretty stoked as a kid when I first saw this cartoon.It was close to Halloween and man has been my favorite ever seen.
