I can't stand 90% of their music. Their songs are simple and sound the same. Sorry had to post this after seeing a new kiss thread everyday.

It's all Basic "BubbleGum Party Rock" .
... The new Song they are Playing on the Radio is Horrible. If that Song was from a New Band,.. There is absolutely No Way That Crap Would Get Air Time, let alone even woulda been recorded by a Credible Record Lable, unless the Band paid for it themeselves. imo. But it's Kiss,.. so there you go.

Hey, thanks for those links! I checked out a number of the songs on youtube and I like the other tunes better than "MDD". I have to say the mix sounds great.

Cool! Glad you liked those. Yeah, Modern Day Delilah is a curious pick when you hear the rest of the album. I think you'll enjoy the bonus concert DVD as well. Now, I've never been one to call their body of work "bubblegum", as my buddy Jason suggests. That term suggests a lack of artistry, which their longevity immediately shoots down. Poison is bubbleum rock. Ratt is bubblegum rock. KISS is STILL selling out stadiums around the world after 35 years and getting ready to plug a number one record. What are Poison and Ratt doing? Yeah Brett... rock my world. Now THAT is bubblegum.

Completely understood. But name a band in that genre that doesn't write that way? The day I go looking to KISS, or any other rock band, for the meaning of life, please lock me up and throw away the key. If I want an introspective moment, I have the Beatles albums- but even then it's just music. It's the marketplace KISS is catering to and they understand how to sell it. Their great marketing men - Thats why they are successful. If the makeup was all it took, then Alice Cooper would have stayed in vogue alot longer than he did. Where's Wasp? Where's the old Motley Crue look? Where's Twisted Sister? Where's...well... you get my point. Also keep in mind they spent 13 years out of makeup selling platinum records too. This is THIRTY FIVE YEARS, not five years based on a one trick gimmick. If it were THAT easy, everyone would be doing it. KISS is a very polarizing band. You either hate them or love them. Very few in
the middle. But hey, it's all good either way. That's what makes the world go 'round. I'm all for world peace, but that's still a work in progress too...

I saw that package for the meet and greet.Its not bad but its reasonable.Well sometime some of don't get a chance or luck to meet some cool people.I talked to the wife and thinking to doing the Austin meet and great.Take the 12" Gene with me.

Back in the day the "kids" were all into Kiss but anyone over 14 was into Zeppelin, Skynyard, Sex Pistols, Floyd, etc.

Because of that, i'll always think of Kiss a kids band.

Comparing Kiss and the Beatles is like comparing The Monkees and the Beatles

BTW...,

Ratt & Poison are more so , OR were "Glam Rock" ... It's actually a different sorta Classification of Tune-Age ..., Glam was More so Linked to Chicks. It was really all about the Chicks that Made them , Packed thier Shows, & are responsable for a Large Percentage of thier Sales at the Time TO Date. You could say Crue , or some would say Crue was Glam as well,.. However There were kinda really in thier own World. Partly due to the Fact that they Were Just so Damn Bad. With Endless Songs of Sex & Drugs, & Altercations The Teen Environment Admired them , for those that were a part of the World.

The real Deal with Kiss,.. is the Fact that there is an Age Group of People (Mostly Dudes) That have attatched themselves to them, & Mostly remember the Aledgid Awesomeness of the Band when they Were Kids..., Outside of that Time, imo No one else really gives a Damn,.. unless ofcourse when the Band is Influenced on these Peoples Children, which any Kid untill they reach a certain Age will pretty Much "Buy into" what thier Parents Teach.
