Stossel ended up losing hearing out of his ear........Dr D was a prick to do that to him. Everyone knew Wrestling was fake to some degree. There was no need for that incident. Dr. D was pretty much done after that. Stossel got the last laugh when he sued and won.
This always makes me laugh...Sick I know considering what happened to stossels hearing but I mean for the longest time I always beleived it was just "Part of the show".
wrestling for me was ruined(not ruined just explained) at a very young age when I met a couple wrestlers having burgers and fries in the same cafe my dad took me to.
They were going to fight each other that night.I asked them if they were really friends...They laughed and told me yes, they explained it was just a show. But I should keep it a secret so other people would still beleive.
The illusion was gone...
They did give me autographs and I enjoyed wrestling for many years afterwards;Knowing my very own secret. YouTube - Al Tomko vs Avalanche Tyler

“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”
^ He's one of the guys, along with Eddie Mansfield, who was featured on 20/20 and Morton Downey if I recall back then, trying to expose the business....supposedly he was blackballed from wrestling when he wouldn't do the deed with a promoter. He was barely a blip on anyone's radar, even back then. Didn't realize he had died....
