I haven't used Blockbuster since they switched to DVDs. Everything eventually comes on cable anyway, so it really doesn't affect me."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

I hadn't rented in so long I can't remember. A buddy of mine showed me the fine art of bootlegging movies on the web . I don't need to worry with renting or buying anything.Comment

I don't rent as much and when i do it's Redbox I'd rather just buy my movies.....Block buster had gone down hill.......Comment

I have a Blockbuster "Universal Account" card which is probably vintage by now. I remember asking a blockbuster in London way back when if I could use my account (to rent a pal machine and some Dr Who, of course) and they said not so much. As a matter of fact they apologized and said that not only wasn't it Universal, it wasn't even Planetary...
I haven't rented a movie in about ten years. I like to load up sometimes when they have a four or five for $20 sale on their viewed clearance though... $5 each isn't so bad, and sometimes the stores by me have older stock and obscure foreign/indie flicks. I picked up an entire season of Carnivale and a Thai martial arts movie called Chocolate for $5 each (both really awesome).
Looks like I'll be vulturing for close-out sales...Comment

The BBusters by my house closed down, and red box has popped out of ground and I see a lot of people attacking them.I have a Hollywood Video store a block away but they suck donkey balls as well. Its funny that I just a letter in the mail stating that there will be no more late fees.So they have be feeling a some kind of loss in sales.Comment

I worked at and ran 2 different video stores for six years. i haven't rented anything since probably 2002. I use Netflix, though I find that's not worth it now because I mostly watch classics and can DVR them off of TCM. I really hate Blockbuster ever since they built a store directly in front of my first video store, so that you couldn't even see us from the street.Comment

Between the Redbox thing and Netflix, Blockbuster is going down. And last time I used them, was the last time I will use them. The online rental service was the pits. I use Netflix, and get 6 a week most weeks from them. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

wow that's a lot. The other day i passed by the one I use to work at when i was younger and it had closed down
I use netflix now which is good if you catch the new release on time when it first comes out but if you miss it you're screwed. I waited almost 2 months for a movie that when i walked in Blockbuster they had 100 copies off
So I'm not that impressed with Netflix either but it is more convenient
I time my stuff perfectly...and always get first run movies from Netfllix.
I always return the DVDs on Monday...and on Tuesday...when the new DVDs come out...they are already are on my Queue for shipping...it works every time.
However...for it to work...a Netflix warehouse has to be close by your shipping address...the Netflix warehouse in my area is in San Jose...40 miles from my hometown of Oakland.
