Just seen a dead bear

The bear hides are supplied by Canada. All the animal rights hoopla of late is forcing the UK and Canadian governments to look at alternatives, as Raider5gt mentioned.

I think they should switch to skunk. Anybody with an ounce of sense would think twice about attacking somebody with a skunk on their head!!

I saw a coat once on Ebay made out of skunk fur. I was tempted to buy it...it was very beautiful.

No we don't have any bears over here anymore (well i don't think we do)

It must be imported from somewhere to make the bearskin hats but not sure where.

Had a buddy total a mini van a few years back when he hit a moose. He was quite lucky. Hitting them isn't the issue, it's when they fall on you. Fortunately it didn't come back far enough and only crushed the front end and broke the windshield and dashboard. The bad thing is when they fall on the roof, most times the passengers are killed by the falling moose not the impact. Moose got up and walked away. Van was a complete loss. It was his in laws. He had been married about a year and decided to go up north to get away with his wife before their first child was due. The father in law was like "Why not take my car." Ironic thing is he drove a volvo at the time which was regarded as one of the safest cars on the road and if he had taken that they probably would have been killed. If it's not your time it's not your time. He drives a minivan now by the way. I try not to hit anything bigger than a possum if I can. Deer have been a big issue recently near me and the abundant deer population is starting to cause the coyote population to flourish. Had a guy attacked a couple of months ago while walking his dog at night. Gotta watch out for wild animals wherever you are.

All I could do was straddle it between the tires.

Beetles hurt, a friend of mine was beaned in the head by a bird once. I've never had the misfortune of hitting anything larger than a cicada; boy do those things sting, even through leather.
