    Just seen a dead bear

I just seen a dead bear on the road this morning.
The first thought that always comes to mind is -- I wonder what kind of damage was done to the car ?

I can't imagine what kind of damage a bear would do. Here in central Kentucky, we have lots of car accidents involving deer. And they can really mess your car up when you hit them. My road is full of deer. I don't know how many times I've had to swerve or come to a dead stop to let them pass.

Weirdest thing I ever hit was a turkey

I was driving through the backwoods a few years ago and right out of nowhere a turkey jumps from a low branch right onto my hood/windshield.

Must have been trying to commit suicide

The story does end with a happy ending ...
He just slid right across the windshield and onto the ground.
From my rear view mirror I could see him moving along into the woods

      BTW, windshield didn't even crack

We have wild turkeys here. I have to dodge those on occasion too. My road is like a forest safari!

If the bear was wearing a hard hat and carrying a shovel , it's become yet another reason to mourn 09/11...

I hit a deer at low speed once, and it did serious damage to my car. I can't imagine what hitting a bear would be like, especially a larger one, and at a higher speed.

                    This bear wasn't that big

It was a Black bear of course.

I would guess he weighed about 200 pounds ... Didn't look like a full grown adult.

Bear fur is amazing!! I have a costume screen used one from a movie (it's not really mine--it's a friend's until he gets settled in New Zealand)...it has bear fur. Ultra thick and heavy.

I think black bear fur is what the English Palace guards wear for hats.

                        Those really tall black hats

last week here, car hits deer, and spins off smashing into a tree, two people died. This may sound crazy, but I always drive in the middle of the road, if Im going through forest area, paranoia that something might jump out, and no, not cars round a bend

Yes they are the Grenadier,Welsh,Scots,Irish and Coldstream Guards, part of the divison that guards the Queen.

There is talk of them doing away with the bear fur and going for the fake fur look.

Do you guys have bear on the British Isles ? ... or do you import the fur from either the US or some other place ?
