No. I got stares regardless. The stares I got just from walking around is the same kind of stare I receive when I wear my ape makeup in public and do human stuff, like shop for fruit. It's what happens when you are the odd chimp out.
Now, if you would have went there in costume, that would have made for some great pics and stories.
My inlaws are already wondering what the heck my big ape project is about. I was trying to figure that one out. It must have been my announcement about the big ape gathering at the San Diego Comic Con in 2010 that I put on Facebook. That's the thing about Facebook...my inlaws get to see what I am up to, so I have to rethink what I post.
My husband would never forgive me for wearing an ape outfit in Kenya. It always troubles him to see the sparkle in my eyes when I am thinking about donning ape regalia.
