I was a latecomer to KISS, my first album as a fan was Dynasty and I stuck with them in there leaner years in the early 80's and the non makeup years. I'll be picking up the new album, looking forward to it. I haven't picked up a music CD in years (I'm more of a DVD person).

Look, I treasured the fact that in 1997 (because I missed the 76-78 KISS heyday), the original 4 toured again but I knew it wasn't going to last forever so I enjoyed seeing the original 4 in concert 3 times in the late 90's. I knew that whatever pulled the boys apart once would do it eventually again but I knew Gene and Paul would continue KISS no matter what.

I knew that Anton Fig did some drum work for some of the KISS albums, never had the details (Anton Fig is now the drummer in David Letterman's show band)

They eventually hung themselves with their own chemical shenanigans.

Lets get back to being KISS!

KISS is not about these two drunks
. It's about Gene and Paul and it always has been.

Some people are just finding out about Anton Fig and Bob Kulick playing Ace and Peter's parts in the 70s on the studio albums because they were too drunk or high to play...

Oh. You think KISS ALIVE I and II was about how good Peter and Ace were?
Wrong again! They had to bring in Anton Fig (drummer) to over dubbed parts on the drum tracks so that the drum solo that was pasted together from various shows so it didn't sound like ***. Same with some of Ace Frehley's leads. Bob Kulick (Bruce's bald and better brother) got paid a lot of money to fix Ace's guitar screw ups!!
The crowd was overdubbed in sections from live screams from Woodstock.

The talented KISS is back! I am so stoked! I am a big fan of non Ace and Peter albums like Revenge, Carnival Of Souls, Hot In The Shade, Asylum, Kiss Alive III, Animalize...etc.

Did you know that Tommy Thayer (who is the Spaceman now) was Ace Frehley's guitar tech and had to show Ace how to replay his own solos? Doesn't that tell you something? When Ace finally exited KISS, Tommy was the perfect choice for Spaceman.

Oh by the way, I am writing for the Torture Chamber again. I get to chew on rock subjects like this. Anyone want a subscription PM me your address and I'll have Marty send you a copy of the rag mag.

Or another good place to good is my friend Kerry's Rockin Rebels site. He is also a member here and he may very well chew my *** about the Ace Frehley digs if he sees this.

      Rockin Rebels

I'll at least give it a listen. I have no prob with Eric Carr since he was in KISS for many years prior to returning/taking over for Peter. Not sold on Thayer yet, but again I'll at least listen to it. I'm about as picky as picky gets when it comes what music I like and since I generally like KISS so it's worth a try. The thing with Thayer is no matter how good he is his beinga tribute band first will always come up.

Eric Singer replaced Peter Criss. Eric Carr died back in 1991 (the same night as Freddie Mercury).

Eric Singer and Peter Criss should be secretly thankful Eric Carr died. They wouldn't have two ****s of a chance with KISS if he would have lived. There would have been no reunion with Peter Criss and Eric Singer would be playing back up drums to Alice Cooper.

You all know damn well if Eric Carr was alive today, he would be the only drummer KISS would have had on drums!

I believe they would have done a reunion with Ace Frehley and forgot all about Peter Criss.

Eric Carr was amazing and he brought KISS up to another level when he joined the band. The day he died I actually became emotional. He was one of my drummer heroes growing up. I had posters of him all over my wall. If you think I am full of hot air. Go buy/rent/watch Kiss Animalzie the concert DVD. Eric Carr's drum solo is incredible. Probably on Youtube somewhere and I don't have the time to search...

Some of you who loved Eric Carr should watch Kissology 2. There is some amazing stuff about Eric Carr that alot of you don't know about.
He was a great and wonderful person all around.

What a lot of people don't know about Eric Carr. He was musically talented all the way around besides drums. He played bass guitar on a couple of songs on "Creatures of The Night" and had an amazing vocal range.
Check out his version of "Beth" on "Smashes, Thrashes and hits"

Without question Eric Carr was by far the best drummer Kiss ever had. I sat my wife down and had her watch the Hot in the Shade concert on Kissology volume 3. Without me saying a word about Eric, she said, "Who is that great drummer? He is incredible!" She absolutely loved Eric Carr and my wife is more into main stream dance and hip hop stuff, so that speaks volumes for how much Carr's talent resonates across musical boundaries. Had he survived the cancer, I dare say Kiss would have snubbed him for the reunion tour. The one thing Paul and Gene learned about their image is the public identifies with those four original characters. They had to bring Peter and Ace back for the reunion tour because otherwise they couldn't have billed it as such. In the end, Carr probably would have come back after Peter left again...maybe. He's was really ticked off at them as it was before he died, so who knows how that would have played out.

I heard about Eric Carr, I wish he's still alive and bring back to the drummer for us...... R.I.P

He's the greatest guy and he played excellent Drummer, I went to KISS Tour in early 1983 with my father. All of 4 KISS band members wear their make up that early year then in the late 1983, I heard all of 4 band members removed their make up and changed the music but they're still "KISS" band members. Also, I have seen on MTV cable TV in the 80's - 90's. I'm glad to watched and listen to their band's music daily and nights.

Now I'm thinking the oipposite of what I assumed before---
not only are you an actual above average Carr-fan---
but enough that he's taken over your subconcious.
