Well crap. I guess it was your wording.

Tell me, No DVD Girl, do you still use a rotary phone?

You know, if I had one, I might use it, just for nostalgic reasons. But these stupid automated systems would make that impossible.

And BTW Comic Book Geek, I don't do CDs or cell phones, either.

I have a rotary phone in my office. Black, probably early 70's. I get more comments on than my megos. Kids go nuts over it.

I can understand the no DVD rule (barely), but no CD's or cell phones? Crap, I'd go nuts without them, especially the CD's.

One good thing about DVD's tho (since you're a 1966 Batman fan): you can get the entire series on DVD cheap on eBay. They ain't official of course (when will they I wonder ), but at least you can enjoy the show whenever you want. I know I do

I can understand the no cell phone and cds better than Dvd. The Dvd is a way better picture. I hate my cell phone cause its always friggin ringing and nothing sounds as good an LP spinin.

A friend of mine is recording the 66 series for me on tape. But let me clarify:
I am the type of person who prefers the cracks and pops of a record. Who doesn't need a cell phone (though I'm forced to carry one for my job, but the minute I'm off the clock it gets shut off), b/c no one calls me anyway, and when they do it's on my home phone, (I refuse to say it's my landline, sheesh). And I really wouldn't mind an old B&W portable TV as long as it got the same 7 stations, w/ good programming that was almost always on back in the day. This PC, my VCR and my digital cable as about as high tech as I get. I don't like discs (CDs or DVDs) b/c the tiniest little scratch gets on them, they're ruined. The laser can'd interpret the data correctly. If my records get a little scratch, they will still play, it may pop a little or even skip once, but it won't freeze up. I do have 2 VCRs hooked into each other, so I can make copies of tapes before they degrade. But even if they get a little fuzzy, they will still play. They won't freeze up on me.

I hope that's a suitable explanation of my retro attitudes. I'm perpetually stuck in the 70s and I like it that way.

                    BTW...what's a beeper? JK!

The very act of copying a tape degrades it more than anything else. If you do that, you are not protecting, you are damaging.

I can see being anti-technology, I can even see being into vinyl instead of CD's, but VHS? That's not 70's retro, that's just insanity.

I can't even imagine going back to VHS,after watching something on DVD there's just no way.But hey to each there own,if that's what you like then I'm happy for you.The good thing is that you could basically find any movie you want for like $1.00

Got to agree with HG on 2 things. I too hate cell phones (although I do carry one) and much prefer vinyl than CDs.

For the most part I love modern technology but I hear ya Hardy Girl....I love vinyl as well but unfortunately I don't currently have anything to play all of my 45s and albums on. It's been several years since I've even had a turntable hooked up to my stereo and even then it wasn't one that would hold a stack of records. I used to love watching 'em drop to play the next tune.

I hardly even listen to CD's anymore either since I got my IPOD ,but I do love the sound of vinyls.I still remember the sound of my moms Elvis collection and her 50's x-mas songs
