Besides being another person who's not a fan of Latka, I never cared for that obscure season-1 guy either ... I forgot his name.

I completely agree with you...Ignatowski ruled...Latka was just plain annoying at times...although he did have his moments...lol.

That driver's test scene was probably the funniest thing ever on Taxi...Christopher Loyd was a genius...lol...

I'm with Mike Starksy and Hutch are no "friendlier" that other partner teams of the time (like Roy and gage in Emergency or the guys from Adam 12)

evne if the real car wasn't a performance machine the way the show described it, it looked fast parked in front of the Police station. I was a huge fan of the show my only regret is I never got the mego car for starky and hutch so I just had to buy a full size one for myself

Funniest scene (besides the 'drivers test' scene), paraphrased..:

Elaine: Just how many letters go in/out of Brazil every year..?
    Jim: 1,263,593..
(Alex and Elaine stare at him startled...)

    Jim (exclaiming): Was I right...?!?

Or the scene where Jim's hired to sell vacuum cleaners, creates the mess in the woman's apartment, then discovers he's really selling encyclopedias..

I HAVE THAT ON MY iPOD..! Reverend Jim always made me bowl over in laughter..

S&H ruled ~ I too was in Junior High and my buddy and I always tooled around on our 10speed bikes, pretending to be 'em (I was always Hutch).. By the last year, the show really felt like it had run it's course, 'course Hutch now had to have that cheesy mustache as well. It was just, less fun.

The highlight of the show was the Vegas special (2hr..?). After that pinnacle, it didn't have as many memorable highlights to me.

For some odd reason, TNN never aired the pilot movie. I had to buy the Columbia House tape series and some years later, upgraded to the DVD sets in order to see it. The S&H pilot was awesome and I have no idea why TNN omitted it from its rerun package.

It would get in the way of the shot?
