Thanks man! It was great while it lasted. I stuck with that gym even after Tyson left. But then when the economy took a dump the state of Nevada
decided to save cash by slashing out supporting the local PAL gyms. I felt bad for the kids, these kids came from some hurting areas. So they tried to keep Golden Gloves open by charging each child & adult 30 bucks a head. But even at a low 30 bucks the gym went down! The kids who once trained for free never returned.

I am sure nobody here would consider this, BUT Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie and Kenyan Paul Tergat tie for my favorite athletes. Haile for his true athleticism and Tergat is just an absolute friendly/ humble person. Both are the best distance runners this world has ever seen. Well, at least in my lifetime... that Pheidippides guy was pretty good tooComment

You say prime Tyson knocks out prime Holmes in three rounds...yet it took four rounds for a prime Tyson to KO an old, washed up, returning outta retirement Larry Holmes...come on...lol.
There are tons of heavyweights who hit as hard...if not harder than Tyson..
Joe Louis
Rocky Marciano
Jack Demspey
Sam Langford
Max Bear
Jack Johnson
Sonny Liston
Corrie Sanders
George Foreman
Ernie Shavers
Lennox Lewis
The current heavyweight champion...Wladimir Klitschko...whom I hate his cautious and passive style...boring to watch...but when he decides to throw that right hand of his...it's deadly...it certainly carries more thunder than Tyson's right hand (who I saw more as a left-hooker)...although Klitschko's punch doesn't have Tyson's snap and quickness.
Sorry...don't mean to be a know-it-all...but boxing is one subject where I know my stuff...like Coach and Toysrus.Last edited by Hector; Jul 11, '09, 2:55 PM.sigpicComment

Yeah AJ, not trying to knock you or anything, but likely Holmes would have picked Tyson apart with his Jab and took him out late. Like Hector said it took a prime Mike 4 rounds to KO a old Holmes, and re-watch that entire fight, Holmes wasnt easy to hit clean, he got up and fought when Tyson dropped him, then watch the last few seconds, Homes right arm got caught on the ropes as he threw a big right uppercut, maybe that punch, just maybe would have saved him. I like Tyson alot, in his PRime he was a beast! Awesome head movement, great chin when in shape, super fast hands and killer power, but he lost his desire for the sport way to young.
Foreman Tyson would have been awesome! I always thought even Foreman in the 90's would have stopped Tyson.
Ali would have easliy picked mike apart.
Tyson is still the youngest champ! I doubt that record will be met or broke anytime soon.
Talking about Tyson, all you guys should try to watch the new Tyson movie! Its awesome!
Your post doesn't make any sense.
