I agree with ya hue! I think TOD gets a bad rap...I enjoyed it at the Theater, and still do on DVD!

I'm there. I liked the last one. As I've said before, I love Raiders like almost no other movie, but the rest of the series ranges from okay (TOD) to very good (Last Crusade), with the last one falling in between. I don't get the hate for that one. It was solid, if not spectacular.

I thought TOD was a good movie, I liked it.
Maybe the mine cart ride was a bit OTT for me.
I think an audience will accept a certain concept in a movie that is "supernatural" (magic stones), as long as the rest of the movie is firmly grounded in reality.
That mine cart ride was so "unbelievable" (I'd like to see a mine that ever used one of those tracks), it was a bit too much.

But for the rest, TOD was OK in my book.

So for me it's:
Raiders (10/10)
Crusade (9/10)
Doom (8/10)
Skull (6/10)

It's Because of that Anoying Brat Short Round,.. & That Blonde over Dramatic Bee-otch . Take the 2 Outta the Flick,.. & The Movie is Pretty good,.. But as it is,.. it is my Least Favorite Indie Movie,.. even behind Skull imo.

I enjoyed Skull cause it was our first indy film in a long time. I did feel as if they took things a little too far several times in the movie. I mean he seriously wanted to call it "IJ and the saucer men" If they do one more, please do it right.

I liked the last one. Decent popcorn flick, which is what Indy is supposed to be, to me. It's a modern version of the old adventure serials. These weren't meant to be War and Peace.

I think he can pull one more off. Too bad Connery is retired. I'd love to see Henry Sr. again.

I liked all the movies, I actually think TOD and Skull are at about the same level and Raiders and Crusade at a much higher level. Like I said, I will be there no matter what. I love the character and Harry is one of my all time favorite actors...right their with Clint Eastwood and Sean Connery

Not to me it isn't.

Anybody that loves TEMPLE OF DOOM and uses that derogatory term
are (with all respect Ghost)the ones "out of touch", as TOD
was just as "fantastic" in it's stunts and gags---
and I loved TOD (admittedly you may have not)
...so give me a BILLION flying lead covered fridges!

The worst thing about KOTCS were the flat plot twists, and the
stupid sloppily made "Mac" character. THAT's what they
should focus on improving not crazy fridge scenes....KEEP THOSE!

Temple of Doom was a good film, not as great as ROTLA or LC but a decent trip into darkness for Indy and had some great moments!

The problem with Skull is that it lacked the charm of the first three. There was magic about each and every one of them that Skull lacked.

Yes, the plot twists fell flat, yes Shia LePoof killed it for me, too.

I loved seeing Karen Allen again (I met her once and her smile lights up a room). I liked that she and Indy were married at the end. I did not like the fact that Sallah was not in the movie though I understand that John Rhys Davies probably had other commitments.

There were some great moments in the film, great stunts and action, a nice nod to Indy's fear of snakes. I could have done without "Mac" swinging among the vines to catch up with the vehicles.

I just didn't like the alien plot. It doesn't suit Indiana Jones. I had always loved the Indy films because they dealt with religious and supernatural themes based ON EARTH. I felt that set it apart from many of the other films that Lucas and Spielberg were making in the 80s. It made Lucas seem more diverse. American Graffiti, Star Wars and then Indiana Jones.

Lucas should keep the aliens in SW and let Indy's adventures be grounded in earthly mysteries, IMHO. I realize that in the 1950s, SF movies with flying saucers and aliens were quite popular with the kids and young adults. I LOVE The Day The Earth Stood Still. Michael Rennie was the man!

But that isn't what I want to see in an Indy film that's why it ranks last for me. This is all a matter of opinion.

Harrison Ford is my favorite modern actor. You can't beat him in Witness, Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The Fugitive, Air Force One, Presumed Innocent, hell I even liked Frantic! Force 10 from Navarone, while nowhere near the quality of Guns of Navarone was fun with Ford, Robert Shaw and Carl Weathers. Not much into some of the later Ford flicks like Six Days/Seven Nights, Random Hearts, Hollywood Homicide....meh...

That was the one poignant line in Skull that I liked from Jim Broadbent:

"We've reached the age when life stops giving us things and starts taking them away."

That was a very touching scene with the pics of Connery and the late Denholm Elliott on Indy's desk. God bless him, he was brilliant in Last Crusade. Marcus finally got real screen time.

As long as its Harrison Ford I would go watch it. Seen all his films and loved them. Dont understand why some of the movies get over thaught though. They are movies for entertainment purposes not hamlet. I think him and Clint Eastwood are the only ones lately that can still pull it off. Kind of sad to watch your favorite actors as a kid grow old.
