can't believe they blew that lead though. They stopped attacking and could'nt counter Brazil's offensive attackLeave a comment:

I seem to remember Brazil beating them 3-0 and almost eliminating them. They are making some gains. Beating Spain was huge.Leave a comment:

Brazil rallies to beat US in Confed Cup final, 3-2 - World Soccer - Yahoo! Sports
In a nutshell...
Man...USA played great in the first half...they jumped all over Brazil and scored two goals.
The second half...Brazil started playing their "juego bonito"...and blasted the USA with three goals in a row...wow...what a beautiful game Brazil has...when they are on...they are on.
Super great showing by the USA though...I'm going to stop rooting for sorry azzz Mexico...it's USA all the way, baby...lol...

I'd say they are pretty darn close. They still need to prove that they can play with the big boys. More quality wins = respect. Beat Brazil in the championships (at least presumably Brazil) and the world will take notice.
Aside from the top 4 or 5 teams, the next 10 are so close to one another it really is a toss up as to who would win.
Actually, I am finding that non-soccer fans even know what happened yesterday.Leave a comment:

But if they do ( no offense ) it will be silly as everyone knows that the USA team is not one of the ten best teams in the world.Leave a comment:

I think you are pretty close with the rankings, but its hard to tell. Egypt beats Italy who crushes the U.S. who then handles the best team in the world. Its enough to make your head spin. The only team to perform up to expectations is Brazil (so far).
I do think the U.S. will crack the top 10 with a respectable showing on Sunday.Leave a comment:

They were saying after the game that this ranks in the top 10 of all time U.S. upsets in U.S. soccer and would be the biggest upset if it had been a World Cup game.
Bring on Brazil for round #2. Hopefully, they can pull another upset.
I wonder where this will place USA in the next FIFA rankings. Obviously, Spain gets knocked out of #1. The U.S. gets beat pretty handily by Brazil and Italy but beats Eqypt and Spain.
If I were to guess, Egypt makes a big move up from their 40th rank given that they almost beat Brazil and beat Italy. Italy will fall by getting beat by Eqypt and crushed by Brazil but will probably drop only a couple of slots.
Spain will move down to #3, Germany becomes #1 and Brazil #2 (if they win the Confederation Cup).
U.S., now #14 I think has to move up into the top 10. If they beat (presumably Brazil) in the Confederation Cup championship, that should move them well into the top 10. Any other thoughts?Leave a comment:
