Raiders is my second favorite movie of all time. I'm not a fan of Temple of Doom. I think Last Crusade was good, but not great. I liked the last one, but it's not a masterpiece. It goes a little too far, at times.

Don't know why everyone is getting worked up over. It'll be how many years before they get to this?

When I go to a movie, I pay my $10 to enjoy myself...not become a critic. But that's just me. The movie has to be god-awful bad for me to say anything negative about it. If it's even hafl-way decent, I let myself enjoy the fun that's there.
That's the thing...I thought INDY KOTCS was about "half-way" decent
which was enough for me to be happy to see Ford as Indy again (chicken or the egg, right?) plus a few other "Indyish" treats in there too.

It CAN'T be that hard to make an Indy plot that you could follow BANG BANG BANG (like FUN clockwork)----the other three did it---the newest Die Hard did it!

With all sincerity tho', it's cool you got more than me out of INDY4---
if only I was that fortunate

I said it once I'll say it again I took my son to it and he loved it.I felt it was a decent portrayal of the character and a fun film.
I find myself wondering what my dad thought when he took me to see raiders?
Maybe he was thinking what kinda crap is this the lid comes off the ark and melts all the bad guys???
              Wheres the action there?

It's just a fun movie. The problem happens when you try to rationalize it in your overly adult head.I think they are meant for kids and people who just enjoy movies not for people who want mental stimulation and meaning.
The posters should read remove brain, shut mouth enjoy...
The only way I'm not going to the 5th movie would be if Jar Jar shows up!!!

As long as Harrison Ford is in it, I'll watch them. The spinoff stuff, minus Ford, is of no interest to me. It just makes me miss Ford that much more.

What if the aliens go back in time through a wormhole and kill Indy's father right when Indy is born and we get to see him played by a new actor and the character grow up as a .... wait that's been done already.....

Actually, I liked the 4th movie and Shia didn't bug me as long as he is a secondary character. The only thing that bothered me about the aliens is that I didn't know if they were good or bad guys. They are like "Oh, let's give you knowledge but then burn your head off!"
                  It's all good!

As with a lot of us, IJ 4 didn't really cut it for me.

To me, the movies are all about:
                    The character of Indy.
So in part 4, replacing him by young "Indy" kind of defeated the whole purpose of seeing Indy in action again. I don't want to see "young Marlon Brando biker boy" in action, I want to see Harrison Ford in all the scenes.

I liked the old style feel of the movies a lot. So with real stunts (as much as possible), realistic action. Spielberg promised us as much. Then they go "tons of CG" on us. The scene with the jungle "harvesters" is so obviously CG, I completely lost feel with the action.

Cate Blanchett is the big bad with the fencing sword, and what do you know, Mutt happens to have one redeeming feature, he's an expert fencer. What are the odds?

What's with all the chipmunks? Or groundhogs? Do we need all that?
I was expecting a big groundhog musical number at the end, seeing they got so much coverage. ("they can sing, they can dance....")

And while you're up to your necks in quicksand, you will certainly keep discussing the kid's education. Right....

The attempts at humour, I'm saying attempts here, were too obvious, which doesn't work well in these movies, as they didn't work in the SW prequel trilogies either.

And face it: Ford IS getting old. Not his fault, it happens to all of us. You don't see me fighting off hordes of Nazis anymore, either.

To recap: we all wanted to see this. But it just wasn't there anymore.

If they made a new Bond, and you see him handing over the reins to Chris Rock playing a gay hairdresser, it wouldn't be Bond anymore, right?

In the meantime, I'll just rewatch Raiders. The big boulder is coming up right now. Run!!!!!

The Indy films are stories based on "vintage movie serials" not made to be perfect science fiction.......they're not perfectly laid out...thats the point...they're saturday afternoon lets have fun films,"raiders" being the best of the bunch.I liked all the films and so does my 6 year old son who only saw them for the first time a year and a half ago."Skull" was different to us because WE are different now.I'm happy there will be another film....you just have to take them for what they are....FUN FILMS

Indiana jones films seem to be in the opposite arc of good bad from tos Star trek films. in star trek evens were good odds real bad. in Indy odds rock and evens are ok. I was lucky enough to see IJ4 for FREE thanks to a gorvery store free IJ4 movie tickets gieaway and liked it right till the last 15 minutes. I like that Indy ages and things get tougher for him
One thing you can't say about Harrison is that he phoned in his performance for IJ4 (which everyone else seemed to incl Lucas)

I hope there isn't another but ij4 still made enough $ to convicnce them it was a hit (I wonder how good dvd sales were)

Yeah, and I felt the new one was supposed to be based on the old 50's B-movies. They had the delinquent race scene at the beginning, "the reds," aliens, weird mental powers, nukes.... I wonder if the next one is gonn keep that going. (Maybe INdy vs a giant radioactive wasp or somesuch?)

I love them all. yes the 4th one was not as great as it should have been....survuung the nuclear blast in a fridge was definately way too over the top, but overall I still like the movie and am looking forward to another one.
