That auction is news to me. There are some great stories surrounding Jeffries' and Barris' customs like the Batmobile, the Monkee Mobile, and Black Beauty. Three very cool cars.
Barris' Fireball 500 was a cool car too...

I'm pretty sure I've read articles where Barris was credited with the Monkeemobile. I knew it was wrong then, but I bet it does burn Jefferies. I just recently read that Jefferies was supposed to build the Batmobile, but the network upped the schedule on Batman, and Jefferies couldn't comply with the timeline. Barris was brought in as a replacement. This was in Twomorrow's new Batcave Companion.

I loved the Monkees since i was a kid on their original run! I love the music and even get the missing link cd's with unreleased tracks recorded back in the 60's. i saw most of the 80's thru 90's tours met davey 3 times and saw him do the Brady bunch live show. met ans saw Peter perform up in springfield and loved that. no hopes of meeting mike who i realized later in life was quite talented. but i keep missing meeting my favorite Mickey every time he comes within 100 miles. i even missed meeting his gorgeous daughter Ami with him at chiller theatre in NJ. one day i must meet him. and i still need to buy the 2 dvd sets but they were expensive and probably out of print now!
as for the Justus cd, man did that stink, it sounded like they were trying to be a 90's grunge band! and that had Nesmith all over it as producer. but i still have it."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of DoomComment
