    New Homerun King..anyone care?

So Barry Bonds Broke Hank Aarons Homerun record last night. I personally didn't care for it. I've never wanted a record NOT broken more.... than that record last night. I personally think he's the worst person to break the record and I personally think he was juiced at one time.

    Any thoughts?

The only reason I care is that now I might be able to listen sports radio, watch espn and not hear about it.

    Bring on football season

I don't know how any of you guys stand on this.

What really burns me up is I was watching a game and the sports-casters were saying what a shame it is Bonds is being investigated when he should just be left alone because he can break the record and assure his place in the hall of fame. All this investigation business is casting an un-necessary dark cloud over him.

Man when I heard that I wanted to throttle the sportscasters. It made me think, it's not how you play the game that's important, is it? Only that you win, win, win! Any way he made it to break that record and it seems all is forgiven. That's really churned my bile.

It is how you play the game, steroid free. In my opinion he tainted the sport. How many homers would Reggie Jackson or Jim Rice have hit if juiced? They played by the rules and Rice may not make it to the hall now. I guess if injections assure you a place in Cooperstown a lot of players will take them now. McGwire, Palmeiro and the rest should be honest. The sport needs to crack down on these cheating idiots.

It was sort of ho hum....I still will consider him innocent until proven guilty but can't really be too excited over it with a black cloud hanging on his head.

Being from Maryland, Cal Ripken Jr. is it and stands for everything baseball is about. It was no surprise that he had a record breaking crowd show up for his induction into the HOF. He will go down in history as the greatest player of the last two decades and one of the best ever.

If A-Rod keeps it up, he's on pace to break the Bond's record if he can stay healthy and keep hitting them over the fence.

Can't stand him nor reconize him as the HR king but I also blame MLB. They should have came down on steroids back in the late 80's.

Juiced or not, friendly or not, he is easily the greatest baseball player of his time, and probably ever.

Paul I respectfully Disagree Babe Ruth IMO is the greatest Player ever....Ruth's Numbers were amazing then and now.He single handedly saved Baseball after the Black Sox scandal. He was amazing when he was with the Red Sox as a pitcher and then with The Yankees. Also to this day if someone hit's a monster homerun..they call that Person Babe Ruth or that's a Ruthian shot. I seriously doubt 50 years from now people will say hey that was like Barry Bonds.

Can you imagine Ruth on Roids!

A-Rod if he stays healthy will pass Bonds easily.

                      Steve.

Just be glad when Bonds retires. Hoping either Griffey(long shot but you never know) or A-Rod passes him by.

Babe Ruth showed up for games drunk. How's that good for baseball. He also hit against way inferior pitching.

How do you Know Rice wasn't juiced?

Bonds has never failed a drug test that I know of.

I f you assume Bonds was juiced, then you have to assume some pitchers that he homered off of were juiced too.

MLB knew exactly what was going on and turned a blind eye.

Speaking as a former Giants season tickets holder and a one time enthusiastic Barry supporter I'm pretty sad at how little I care about the record. His unlikability finally wore me down. The fact that he did steroids is proven short of a photo with a syringe in his butt. Plus, the Giants have been nothing but the Barry Bonds sideshow the last few years. I used to leave that ballpark so proud of witnessing the greatest living player...Too bad.
