That's where the bloody British got ambushed.

Oh...and wasn't the real William Wallace much younger and taller than Mel Gibson?

Aye, and he shot Thunderbolts out his arse!!!

And much more psychotic. I've read the bard's interpretation of Wallace and even his own countrymen described him as somewhere between a serial killer and an avenging angel.
Not that either of those descriptions would make me any less impressed with the man.

Gettysburg...and giving Jeff Daniels full credit here for a great performance. He doesn't get enough credit in my book, a very adaptable actor from idiotic comedy like Dumb & Dumber to fluff stuff like 101 Dalmations for Disney to powerful stuff like Gettysburg. And a pretty talented musician as well!

    YouTube - Jeff Daniels singing

I will forever kick my own arse for not being the first to mention this.

Good call, my friend! I get teared up when the old man tells the story about his grandchildren asking if he was a hero in the War and he says, "No, but I served with a Company of them.".

All movies that are based on a true story have a lot of BS in them.

I loved Friday Night lights even though it's based on a true story it's inaccurate.

Schindlers List - one of the all time greatest movies

Braveheart - does not get any better than this

The Great Escape - I know the characters were not actual people, just amalgams of real people, but the events were all true and this is one of my all time favorite movies

Defiance - a new favorite of mine I just picked up opn Blueray, great movie, check it out if you haven't seen it yet

Band of Brothers - okay it is a miniseries but still very powerful

Loved the original, though it is somewhat inaccurate. Believe me, I have a friend who is a complete expert on the subject and he loves the movie, but he can point out the inaccuracies and tell you why, based on his actual conversations with people who were there. My buddy still loves the movie, but he can tell you what is BS and what isn't.

So many good movies in this category.
I really thought Hanks had a shot at three-in-a-row and Ed Harris as Gene Kranz....Awesome!!!! Plus Ed Harris and the connection to "The Right Stuff"........double-awesome!!!!

Oh, yeah....let me add the movie "The Right Stuff".
