I remember going to sports cards auctions with my dad and they would sell the Wheaties boxes of the losing team from either The World Series or Super Bowl. They would print up two sets and go with whoever won. Kind of wish I had picked some up.
I have a few cereal boxes, including a few Superman ones given to me by some kind folks here. I have a couple on display, and some that have been broken down just to save space.
I think everyone must have bought that Batman cereal! I might still have a couple in the basement. I also have a Bill & Ted's and a Quisp box packed away somewhere.
I collect vintage cereal boxes actually...I have one freakies but i mainly collect the monster cereals and crazy cow...very cool that MEGO fans collect em too...thought i was weird
I love vintage cereal boxes--70's and 60's especially. Freakies, Quisp, Quake, Pink Panther Flakes. Count Chocula. Particularly interesting as a collectible because nobody really thought to save them back then--hence the hefty price on many of them. Neat pieces of pop art.
I once owned an early 70's Raisin Bran box with an uncut Bobby Sherman record on the back. In fact, after 15+ years of looking, it's the only vintage cereal box I ever found!
Can't say that I'm into modern era cereal boxes (mid 80's to present). Of course that's when everyone started saving them so they're much easier to find!
That is totally awesome! Will you post pictures of the others that you did when you get a chance some time? Did you happen to keep any of the boxes that you did for your own collection? That would really have been cool. Thanks again for sharing that.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009
