if you had to invest in toys today..which would they be?

Just curious guys,if you had to invest in today's market for a few years down the road. What would you buy? I'm not talking about a large amount, but maybe a few hundred dollars.

I've been investing a bit on the WDCC Disney figures but those are more for me and the deals I'm getting are pretty much 25% of what they retail for.

So what would you say...Joes,Megos(which ones?) ,He-man, what?

MOTU Classics and maybe some of the Transformers stuff like the animated series figures/vehicles.

I thought maybe JL/JLU might be worth something but even the original 7 figures with the connecting bases are still pretty cheap nowadays.

The only new things i've ever bought in the last 10 years that actually have increased in value is Side Show Hogan's Heroes and Sci Fi Metropolis Lost in Space.

              Marvel Legends variant figures

or the 12-back first editions of Disney Cars. There are two different 12-back cards, the only difference is the date on the contest on the back top right corner.

                    Yeah,...

I dunno D,.. I think you screwed up getting Rid of that Faker,.. if your looking for something to invest in... The New MOTU has the best Market Value right Now outta Anything New.

The New Green Lantern Blackest Night Collection might be popular ...so Far 2 sets have been announed,.. However either one has yet to it the shelves... The Books have been going to 2nd & 3rd Printing for a while ... Should be interesting....

& The Ross Justice figures do Really Well....
Aquaman, Superman, Flash, Joker & Bizarro Go for Bank compaired to what they retailed for.

& the Walmart Wave of DC Universe Classics ....
Eradicator goes for upwards of 80 bucks ...
                    Atom about 60.00
                    Black Lighting
                    Amazo
                    & Riddler all for over 40.00 ... Not bad for 9.99 Toys ... & New stuff ...

The Gentle Giant Star Wars Exclusive Busts are always a good investment imo... Particularly the Troopers of different characters...

Thats about all I can offer as far as an Investment angle,.. I don't really collect for those perposes...

yeah Jason,I know the MOTU are a great investment,if I would've bought the rest at retail I would've kept going. But to pay double and triple now,it might not be a wise move

As for new toys I would say Nada! The only toys that have any value are those that are currently considered "hot". This never seems to last long however and prices will plummet within a year. I have collected so many toylines over the past decade and you can barely give most of them away now. Since about last October I have been thinning out most of my stuff that's been sitting in storage and the things that sold very well on Ebay were:

                        Star Wars Legos
                        Justice League Unlimited
                        Palisades Muppets

Just this week I have listed all my 12" Sideshow Star Wars with a BIN of $39.99 and they aren't really selling (six went so far). These were supposed to be the "premium" figures of all time and considering I paid more than $70 each for most of them it's been a huge disappointment.

As for vintage lines I'll stick with my Fisher Price Little People. They haven't really gone on a downward spiral yet but some sets are starting to take a hit. Anything that has original packaging, whether it's in poor or excellent condition, seems to bring in the sales.
