Another Movie Thread - Favorite Historical flick

I know Hollywood dresses them up, but your favorite flick dealing with or based around a historical event.

If it is a war flick, its gotta be based on actual events, not a made up, shoot'em up war movie:

#1 The Right Stuff (I love this movie)

all others in no particular order:

Pearl Harbor (except the fictional love triangle)
Titanic (except the fictional necklace and love story)
Saving Private Ryan (not a true story but the D-Day scene made it a great movie)
    8 Men Out
    Rudy
    Miracle on Ice

    I have lots more

Man, I love that movie and the book it was based on. Don't know how many times I have seen/read that story and I never get tired of it.

Along those lines, I loved "From the Earth to the Moon". Great behind the scenes stuff.

      Apollo 13

      To Hell and Back

      Band of Brothers

      Thirteen Days

              Assuming we're adding historical settings as well as those based on real events;

              Schindler's List
              Apollo 13
              Saving Private Ryan
              The Patriot
              Braveheart
              Glory
              The Right Stuff
              Good Shepard
Evildoers tremble at the name... Aaron

                300
                Titanic

I'd like to include "Band of Brothers"(but it falls under HBO Mini-Series)

Anyone ever see the movie "Life is Beautiful"? If that is a true story that is the best one ever made. I'm not ashamed to say that the movie moved me. If you haven't seen it yet check it out.

There's so many, how can you choose? But to name a few:
                            Schindler's List
                            Saving Private Ryan
                            The Longest Day
                            Bridge over River Kwai
"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan Poe

I'd also like to include "Saving Pvt.Ryan"...because the idea was taken from a very small part of the "Band of Brothers" Book...but the Story was totally fictional.

Same with Gladiator... Most of them were real People...except Maximus. But having read Wil Durant...the Movie seemed like it was taken right out of History. They really Nailed it!
