Being thrilled when my parents brought me home a Matchbox car when they came home from Saturday morning grocery shopping.
Trying to stay awake at the drive-in to see a Sinbad film, but falling gradually asleep, then laying down along the inside rear windshield.. behind my sisters' heads.
Getting to stay up late around Easter time because my family went to late-night Easter services, and watching scary movies on TV!Comment

Since it's pretty cold and windy today, I just thought of another one:
In the NYC winter months when it snowed, it was decreed at P.S. 28 Elementary school that every Tuesday was "Hat Snatching Day".I really hated this. The older 6th grade boys would pull the hat off of some unsuspecting kid,(yeah, it happened to me once), and drop in the the dirty slush on the ground and step on it. So I decided not to wear hats on Tuesdays, just my hood. My mother never understood this. So I'd wear my hat out of the house, and when I got close to school, I'd put it in my bookbag.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

Those stupid 6th grade boys would never do this to any other 6th grade boy, 'cos they knew they'd be in for a fight. A 6th grade girl maybe, if she were smaller. They basically just picked on the younger kids."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
