My wife is going to London next month and I was wondering if they use euros as well as pounds for currency. We need to know what to buy. She will also be going to France so we still need to buy pounds.

Pounds for the UK.
Euros for France.
Some of the newer European Community members still accepts goats, I think.
Personally, I'd like to return to Belgian Franks.....

I would take just a small amount of Pounds Sterling and Euros. I was in both countries about 10 years ago and you could walk up to an ATM machine and use your bank card to withdraw whatever you needed there and it would give you a fair conversion.
Don't ever use the currency conversion places at the airports. They charge about a 15%premium on the conversion."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
