I bought a DVD player off Amazon that could be switched to play Region 2 -UK DVD's and I hooked it up to my TV no problem. Before you buy one search the i nternet to see how to re-set the region blocker. I watch Blakes 7 with it. I hadn't thought of gettin 6MDM but maybe it's time to do it.

I've been thinking of picking up the R2 Six Million Dollar Man, but I'm sensitive to PAL speed up, so listening to PAL discs can be distracting to me. Everything is just slightly too high pitched for me.

Maybe we can all get together and encode them and get copies to eachother. Just need to rip the PAL and redo it in NTFS. Might take awhile but it can be done.

Making a NTSC disc from a PAL disc is something I've always wanted to try, but it looks very labour intensive, and involves using several programs (from what I've read on the videohelp and doom9 forums). Making sure the audio is synched up properly after conversion seems to especially be a PITA. You're right, it can be done though. One day when I feel ambitious, I might take a test run with one of my PAL DVDs. It's one of two projects I want to try when I get the time (the other project is to rip a HD DVD and convert and burn it to a Blu-ray disc).

I have the first season shows transferred to NTSC. If someone has season 2 or 3 in NTSC, I'd love to trade. I did it on Nero and each episode took hours but it works.

Yes, you are right. I have converted PAL to NTSC many times and most of the time when I goto watch the DVD for some reason in small cases it knocks the audio off by a half of a second. It really annoys my girlfirend when we watch a movie after I have done that. I tell her to shut up and deal. be happy we can see it.
