I also have an ipod. I don't ever use the top 10 feature. I do enjoy having it instead of a CD player. I have 6,273 songs on mine

It felt like it took for ever to get them all on there, but it was totally worth it

My brother used to have one and we all thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
I was practically raised on one....my mom had recorded some of the best rock and pop back in the 60s and early 70s....we used to listen to that thing for hours. A couple of years back I made CDs of some of the best mixes she had recorded.

I remember we didn't get a VCR until '85, so prior to that I had experimented with recording TV shows and movies on the thing. Superman II was one of them and a Twilight Zone marathon was another (episodes that originally weren't part of the syndication package).

The sound on them reel-to-reels were great too.

My brother had a few pre recorded bought tapes and used to play them.

They sounded as good as a record player

                His recorder was pretty big.
I'm guessing it was about the size of a mid-size suitcase and weighed a ton.
I don't even think it was solid state

Having a portable music player is nice, but I haven't fully embraced the digital music thing. I still like to buy cds(had records and cassette tapes as a kid), unwrap them, have the cover art, etc. So I listen to cds at home, in the car, etc.

Yeah, I still like to get the CD and open the package, etc. To me it just doesn't feel the same downloading a song. That being said, I do have a Sansa version of a MP3 player that I wear when mowing the lawn, etc.
                      It's all good!

So do I. It's the only way to get a lot of the music I like.
