No Jack-in-the-Box here. But I did eat at them while I was out in CA, along with In-and-Out.

There's one about 45 minutes from me but as it's not near anything else I haven't tried it yet. Everything seems to slowly making it 's way out here,as Sonic recently opened a couple of locations and has been doing well. Fuddruckers also three locations accessible to me. Since two of the locations are near other things that's where I usually go. Will have to try Five Guys one on these days. All of these chains together are starting to fill the void left in this area when Roy Rogers was sold off.Comment

There use to be Sonics just about everywhere here but about 90% of them closed a while back. I think there are only 2 left in town. We don't have Fundruckers but I've heard it was good.sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSHComment

One opened up about 20 minutes from me just haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet. I read about them on one of those"Best Burgers" articles on yahoo news a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I'll take the kids this weekend. We had a Jack in the Box in town about 35 years ago which closed. I didn't even know the chain still existed.Comment

Its the best burger you can get next to an IN AN OUT,love the way they pile the fries up in the sack .Comment

In N Out Burgers rule...but their fries are mediocre...although if you order them animal style (melted cheese and thousand island sauce over them)...they are great.
And yes, I'm a little shocked that Jack N the Box has not expanded to the East Coast...they easily trump the big three, McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendys.
Five Guys is not in the West Coast...but my sister tried it on one of her trips over there, and she said they were comparable to In N Out, so I know for a fact they are good.
Having said that, True Burger is still better than all of them (too bad there's only one, but the word is that they might be branching out), they even trump In N Out...

I'm in Whitestone, Queens, NY and they are popping up everywhere. 3-4 locations now all within 10 minutes travel time of where I live.
The burgers are juicy but I don't think you say they are greasy. They point out on the menu that they cook everything in Peanut Oil-not regular cooking grease. They even have bundles of peanuts all over the place and allow customers to take some as a snack while waiting for their order to be cooked. For $5 you can get a regular burger = 2 paddies. My former supervisor at work thought that was too expensive but it sounds good to me. Those are not White Castle paddies! Plus on the menu you can add whatever toppings, even all the toppings, at no extra charge. They have ketchup but also BBQ sauce, A-! sauce, etc. Over here they spec. the franfurters as Kosher. When you get it they have split in 1/2 all the way down.

I heard there going to open one up right down the street from me. It's going to be next to Pink Berry. I can't wait. I want to give it a try.
