I wonder: will packages from the US be stopped? Can you get it from handling items?

Did the Orlando case get confirmed yet? The guy was at Disney. If that one plays out the Magic Kingdom will be a ghost town.

Yup; it was to protect you from a biological or chemical weapon attack. Some senator made an aside about duct tape and everybody went nuts.
Yes, Thanks Don! That was it. I just couldn't remember it for some reason.

The mask is like a condom for STD's -- it reduces the chances, but in no way does it eliminate the risk of contamination. This virus is like smallpox -- it's water borne, and passes through bodily fluids transmitted in sneezes and coughs.

And like smallpox, this virus can live outside the body on things like desk tops and telephones for about four hours. So CONSTANTLY wash your hands and DON'T touch your face. The virus can enter through your nasal passages or your eyes.

And, NO, you can't infect someone by giving them infected blankets. That's El Toro Poo-Poo!

It's tough to gauge how worried a person SHOULD be; especially when you've got news outlets proclaiming this bout of Swine Flu a potential "Black Death." Personally; I'm not worried. Where I live it's treatable, the odds of getting it are actually pretty low, and I'm not afraid of the OTHER diseases out there that could kill me just as quickly.

I think the key for watching the news is to listen when someone says something to the effect of "and here is the representative from the CDC" and ignore anything proceeded by "and our own resident expert...." There's a tendency to hype things up so's you'll watch more news.

I can remember some time ago it was said that duct tape and plastic wrap would be great for wrapping up your house to protect yourself against.......(whatever it was going on at that time) So naturally a lot of people went out and bought up all they could thus leaving the shelves empty everywhere. It was to the point where one could not even find a roll of duct tape if you needed one much less buy a roll for a good while. Needless to say I wasn't going for it then and I am not going for it now either. I need more concrete proof to support the evidence. It turned out later that it was released that all of the duct tape and plastic wrap that people were buying up and using would not have did one darn bit of good. What a waste. Does anyone else remember what I am typing about here. I am having a youngzeimers attack and I cannot remember what exactly that is was going back at that time. People sure did panic as usual though.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, both SARS and SWINE FLU have their origins in CHINA. Avian Flu, Swine Flu... It's all the thame sam ding...

Now the World is talking about boycotting North American produced pork... They won't be boycotting Chinese products, or closing the borders to Chinese nationals. If you like pork, it's gonna be cheap for the next 6 months...
    You are into something here...

"Medical detectives have not zeroed in on where the outbreak began. One of the eight deaths in Mexico directly attributed to swine flu was that of a Bangladeshi immigrant, said Mexico's chief epidemiologist, who suggested that someone could have brought the virus from Pakistan or Bangladesh.

Miguel Angel Lezana, the epidemiologist, said the unnamed Bangladeshi had lived in Mexico for six months and was recently visited by a brother who arrived from Bangladesh or Pakistan and was reportedly ill. The brother has left Mexico and his whereabouts are unknown, Lezana said."
