I'm not sure who was more popular in the 70s: KISS or the BEE GEES. I want to say KISS but my stomach tells me that the BEE GEES were more popular. The Brothers Gibb were everywhere not only writing their own hits but also writing & producing hits for many other artists, movies and soundtracks: (i.e. Grease & Saturday Night Fever).Leave a comment:

In the 70's, Elvis was basically washed up Vegas act that people saw when he toured to relive to 50's & 60's, like we do now with KISS and bands from the 80's.Leave a comment:

Not in the top ten, but worth a mention:
Charo
She seemed to be everywhere in the 70s, probably because you couldn't help but notice her.Leave a comment:

Even though I bumped them for Elvis, in defense of The Super Friends....they pretty much defined what most people "on the street" automatically think of when you say DC Super-Heroes or Justice League: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Robin.
(even though the JLA part is inaccurate with Robin)
And even though it's actually a negative thing, it enforced in people's minds the "lameness" of Aquaman.Leave a comment:
