This is gut-wrenchingly wretched. What's with the headgear--a quasi hood-cowl? Yechh. I didn't realize something new was in development.
I liked Billy Zane as the Ghost Who Walks.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Hope that thing has built in air conditioning or cooling coils, otherwise the Phantom is going to get heat stroke running around the Jungle in that.Comment

... I dunno,.. it's not that bad, & Miles beyond Berry's Catwoman outfit..., But I don't really know that much about the character, so my opinion could be a bit Bias.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
always trading for Hot Toys Figures .Comment

This is why it is so hard to translate the feel of a comicbook to a movie.
Leotards work great in comicbooks but it's hard to take them seriously in a movie. That's why directors and costumers try to "evoke" the feel of the source material but still give it a practical, real-world feel.
If you were to be honest, you would say that Adam West's Batman costume is closer to the source material than Christian Bale's, but which one is taken more seriously?
Not saying it's great for comicbook purists, but you can understand why they do it.Comment

You know for all the flack Billy Zane got playing the Phantom, the truth is he looked pretty good. I thought that was a literal translation and he was buffed properly and quite frankly looked cool. But when you place him in a well lit environment, it just reads like cheese. That's where literal translations don't always appeal to audiences. Of course this project their working on for the Sci-Fi channel looks ridiculous. If you conceptualize him to the point of being unrecognizable then your just stealing the name. They might as well right that off as a loss on their books. It will not succeed.Comment
