    Who misses the 70s?

    I do...by FAR...my favorite decade EVER.

The age of innocence...but at the same time...hormones kicking in, lol.

Living in Mexico from 70-76...my pops buying me brand new Lili Ledys at the department store toy section. Playing in a cool soccer team. Owning a chopper bike. My first job...a newspaper route. Having my first real crush...and ehem...first kiss, lol.

Moving back to the States in 1977...just in time to watch Star Wars at the movie theater.

Buying brand new Megos at Gemco department stores.

Farrah Fawcett posters, Bruce Lee posters, comic books, cereal, Saturday morning cartoons, the music...man...everything about the 70s is golden to me.

    AGREE OR DISAGREE???

      I do! All the time.
      Think about it everyday.
The best years of my life.
      Can't believe it's 30 years ago since the 70's!

I do not disagree about missing the 70's as it was quite indeed a great era. However, I am pretty content with the technological advances being made today. For if it were not for the internet I may have never realized that you even existed and vice versa. I have always told my friends that I wish I had everything that I have right now and be back at the tender age of say 21 or so. That would be awesome. Not that I am really complaining now or anything.

Believe it or not, I was bummed on New Years eve of '79. I was! As a teenager I could see how things were quickly changing and I knew the days of the 70's were over. You could feel it because the music was changing, hair styles were becoming preppy and the days of wearing bell bottom jeans were big time over. Also what many forget is how much people revolted against the 70's in the early 80's. Suddenly anything from the 70's was frowned upon. Remember the days when KISS and the BEE GEES were hated? Television was changing too. Staples like The Six Million Dollar Man ended in '79, Starsky & Hutch a year earlier, plus the magic of movies seem to be coming to an end. Think about the ride we had in the 70's - Jaws, Rocky, Star Wars, Close Encounters, and even great music staples like Grease and Saturday Night Fever. It seemed like one big party with always something new coming around the corner. But in truth, the days of simplicity...and my childhood...were quickly coming to an end. Yeah I miss the 70's.

                I DO! I DO!! (like that's a surprise?)

I am the retro QUEEN! I miss the 70s so much! That decade had the best food, TV (cartoons, dramas, sitcoms) clothes, (why else would Brian post them?) toys, (ahem! Why we're all here!) and music. It was the greatest time in the world to be a kid! When kids could actually be kids (w/o being hovered over), and things were still magical, and anticipation was exciting. Where there were no cell phones, internet, CDs, I-Pods and folks still managed to keep track of their kids, maintain jobs, and keep up w/ world and community events. When you could see kids running around until the streetlights came on, moms could stay home, and after school programs were the exception, not the rule. Where you never heard phrases like "soccer moms", and "play dates". (shudder)

What can I say? Life was good!
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I gotta agree. I miss the Vietnam War. Watergate was fun, too. High crime and inflation and the Cold War were good times. I certainly do miss the 70's!

Definitely miss it. It was a great time to be a kid!! Maybe not so great a time to be an adult.

I don't miss it. I was fresh off the boat and learning how to speak English. It was a big culture shock for me.
