I had to start wearing them when I was 8. I used to hate wearing them. I started wearing them pretty much all the time in High School. Now, the only time I take them off is when I'm reading.

Yep, since age 7. I'm legally blind without them. I've thought about Lasik but I'd still have to wear glasses. I also have bifocals. I am extremely near-sighted.

I used to be the same way. I didn't need glasses until I graduated from college. My eyesite was borderline meaning that I needed glasses but it was about the smallest prescription available. Every time I had my eyes checks they got worse by a magnitude of 2 so now I need glasses to see anything distance.

Finally, about 12 years ago I decided to try contacts. My wife had worn them forever but I could never imagine sticking my finger on my eye (it just gave me creepy feeling). I took the leap and it did take me about 2 weeks to get used to it but love them. They are so easy to pop in and out now and I can play sports without worrying about a ball smashing me in my glasses.

I will probably take the lasik plunge at some point but am content with my contacts.

Ironically, I just had an eye exam and the doctor noticed my vision was actually getting a bit better (if that's possible) so he dropped the prescription a bit and I don't even notice a difference.

I've thought about Lasik but I've heard that it really doesn't help with night driving. Anyway I made an appoinment for later this week and I'll see how bad my eyes have gotten and what my options are.

Yup. Ever since I got into computer programming 10 years ago.
