Ledger fans demand the Joker retired from film

Ledger's performance was so unique and distinctive, I think anyone would look stupid playing the same character in that Nolan universe, it would be an impression or impersonation. Impossible to do. They should move on to other villains.

I love Heath Ledger and I think he was a tremendous talent. But his Joker, as potent and amazing as that performance is, is still not the Joker as portrayed in DC comics since the late 60s. That character has yet to be realized or even attempted on-screen, except in animation in a rather toned-down version voiced by Mark Hamill. Retire the character from the movies? Preposterous.
