Also liked Wait Til You're Father Gets Home YouTube - [TV Theme] Wait Til Your Father Gets Home (open titles)('72) and The Submariner (Namor) YouTube - The Sub-Mariner TV cartoon intro (1966). Frankenstein Jr., Shazan the Genie. The list goes on and on.

    Man I love youtube.
    Welcome Aboard, Scott!!!

I definitely remember The Mighty Hercules and some of my earliest memories are watching Wait till Your Father Gets Home. In fact, when Happy Days hit the air, Mr. C was Harry Boyle to me (not to be confused with a "hairy boil"). Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach) was Jamie (followed by Willie Ames)! Great show and kind of a forerunner for The Simpsons and Family Guy.

I'm glad you two remember "Battle of the Planets"! There was no doubt in my mind it existed, and I knew folks here would have remembered it, but danged if anyone I talk with on a regular basis will acknowledge it existed.

cjefferys, I so get your point: I didn't know what "anime" was, at the time, but when I first got what "anime" was, it was like, "Oh yeah....like Battle of the Planets, right?".

        YouTube - WHERE'S HUDDLES?
I remember Where's Huddles..it was a syndicated Hanna-Barbera cartoon that ran here in the early evening. Only lasted like one season. It was almost exactly like the Flintstones only in modern times, andthe boys were football players. I think Paul Lynde was the neighbor who hated them, he had a cat right? Somewhere I have the Gold Key comic books from the show...early 1970S. I liked the show too!
Thanks for bringing that one up!

and I watched Battle of the Planets all the time but I can't stand that Japanese animation anymore.
"Battle of the Planets" was another huge favorite. Right up there with "the Super Friends", for me. In '79 and up until the last few years, I knew "Battle of the Planets" as "G-Force."

The Mighty Hercules - wow, haven't thought of that in years. Newton got on my nerves.

One more post and I'd be admiss if I did not mention this one: Emergency + 4. The series ran for two or three seasons on NBC and featured the voices of Randolph Mantooth as John Gage and Kevin Tighe as Roy De Soto.

Young Samson and Frankenstein Jr are two early action/adventure ones I recall watching alongside Jonny Quest.
(The Impossibles must not've made much of an impact on me.) That was early 70's and must've been near the end of their re-run cycle because I only caught 'em a few times before they disappeared. Oddly enough I never wondered why the dog would turn into a lion.
Around the same time that I watched Underdog & Tenessee Tuxedo, I was catching a cartoon cousin of Bullwinkle's, Hoppity Hooper.

Derek -- Kimba was my answer as well -- I loved Kimba! Only a hand full of people I have met have ever heard of it.

I have only one of these eps on tape. I can remember back in the day watching this in my brother's room. I even learned the term "Buddy Breathing".

                          >Mighty Orbots

OH YEAH!!!! Second greatest cartoon ever! I remember how weird it was to see an actual ending for a cartoon series back in the day.

                          >no one remembers "Battle of the Planets"! Not even when I use the name "G-Force". I loved that show and no one seems to remember it existed.

ANother classic! I used to love it right until I got to the U and had a chance to see the original Japanese version. (Gatchaman) The Japanese one is a LOT better. The first series is available on disk; Rhino Video did the first 50 or so, with the American and Japanese versions of each; and ADV did the whole series, Japanese version only.

                          >they remember "The Snorks"

                          *shudder* Underwater Smurfs.

                          >and "Trollkins" (which doesn't even rate a Wikipedia entry),

I'm surprised someone else remebers Trollkins. It was a cross between the Smurfs, and the Dukes of Hazard. In a tree. (No, really!)

                          >An obscure toon that I always liked was The Mighty Hercules.

Here in Canada it wasn't obscure; Global ran it every day... pretty much forever! That theme REALLY gets stuck in your head....

....and yeah, I wanted someone to smack Newton too.

watching that show and eating a slice of American cheese (as babies do).

I must have been not much older than 1 (around 1972 or '73).

                            I liked that show when I was a baby---what did I know?

I'll tell ya somethin'---to this DAY---that theme song is one
of my greatest nostalgic songs to listen to.
