I like all the Bond actors but the one i grew up with was Roger Moore so he will allways be my favourite, a bit like the Dr Who you grew up with.

I also love all the Bond films but i did not think much of the recent one Solace and i think the worst bond film of all time is Diamonds are Forever.

Just watched Octopussy and it still great and still funny.

Bond.. Do you know how to operate this balloon Q.

Q.. It runs on hot air

    Bond.. Oh you do then.

Great stuff, i could watch them over and over.........and i do.

I like Diamonds but everytime I see it, I always think that movie would have been a lot better with Roger Moore as Bond.

It just seems Diamonds would have been perfect for Moore.

I was never crazy about Brosnan. Too soft!
I skipped most of his movies, saw them later on TV, and remained unimpressed.
I wish Lazenby had done another one, cause I felt he could have grown into it. Poor guy never had a chance...
Dalton seemed, IMO, to be close to Fleming's Bond. I liked him, but the stories were a bit "regular Bond", "nothing special".
I liked the slightly harder and edgier Moore in his first movies. Remember in Golden Gun, when he slaps Maud Adams around? And he even beat up a little person, shame you, Roger.
Can't help liking Craig, he's touch and gritty, like in the books, not a real pretty boy. And they're SPY stories, not Super Bond....

My favourite Bond moment? There are many, but the train fight in "Russia" with Robert Shaw, man, that was raw for a mainstream movie.

Connery was bored, and it showed. He just did it to fund his charity. So applause for his good will, and less applause for acting. Bad guys were nothing special either...

Wasn't it in Octopussy that Moore runs into a wild tiger and makes him sit like a dog?
            So silly!
I was embarrassed in his place.

            The tiger, I mean....

The whole Bond falls in love --- and of course she get's killed at the end of the movie was way too predictable.
Some people say it's one of the best James Bond moments ...
For me it was one of the worst.

The whole plot of OHMSS was very lousy and was made to build up to this crummy climax.

              Yes, the movie was slick.
It had a great soundtrack, nice SFX and lots of expensive location shooting....

But it proved you can't make a good Bond movie unless you have a good story and a good actor.
I liked the story, and thought Lazenby did OK.
And the soundtrack is simply fantastic, one of the best.

Best Bond moment for me ?
                I have a few ...

                1. Moore skiing off the cliff then opening up the Union Jack parachute to the Bond theme.

                2. The attack on the base at the end of You Only Live Twice

                3. Lazenby saying "this never happened to the other guy"

See now Mr Gorn you get embarrased by that where as i just fall about laughing, to me moments like that are what the Moore bond films were all about same as when he tells the snake to hiss off and goes across the lake in the rubber crocodile.

By and large I don't like the Moore films, as I consider them rather silly when I prefer a grittier take. I think For Your Eyes Only ('81) is Moore's best because of its stripped-down, more serious quality (though tragically the Blofeld opening and the closing bit with Margaret Thatcher are goofy beyond all explanation). The third-act assault on the mountainside monastery is gripping, gritty, awesome stuff, as is the extended skiing sequence. Moore is in top form, a good blend of cheeky and fierce, as any Bond worth his Walter PPK should be.

Yesterday I watched Octopussy ('83) and A View to a Kill ('85) back-to-back -- both for the first time in YEARS. Octopussy is quite good in spite of a few groan-inducing moments (the tiger sitting on command, the tennis-ball sound the tennis rackets make when used as bludgeons, etc.). The stolen Faberge-egg plot and Indian locations are wholly engaging, the title character's switch from villainess to heroine is very satisfying, and the climactic assault by a bevy of acrobatic female assassins is to die for! All in all a fine contribution to the franchise from Moore and director Glen.

That said, it's almost impossible to believe that View was made by the same team! The story, about racehorse performance enhancements and the flooding of Silicon Valley, is engaging enough. But Tanya Robert's vacant-eyed performance all but ruins the second half of the film -- and worse, the action scenes are clumsy and poorly staged. The keystone cop-style Fire Truck chase in San Fran is one of THE dumbest sequences in Bond history. However, Walken makes a terrific villain, Grace Jones goes out in style, and the palm-sweaty climax atop the Golden Gate Bridge almost single-handedly redeems the movie, with a butterflies-in-the-stomach fistfight on the girders, and an old Nazi cackling from his zeppelin of doom, clutching a fistful of dynamite! Overall View isn't Moore's worst (that would be Moonraker), but he deserved a better send-off than this gooftacular romp.

This must be why i like them so much being rather silly myself.

This talk reminds me of a movie I seen quite a while ago.
I only seen it once and forgot most of it.
It was a movie about Ian Flemming and his being a kind of spy in real life during WW2.
It think it was all exaggeration, but it was pretty fun to watch.

                            Anybody remember that movie ?

I'm not entirely sure but i think Ian Fleming was attached to the secret service during the war.

I actually liked A View to a Kill. Walken was a great villian and it's my favorite Bond song.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
